    Abstract: A kerf indicator for use with a power saw provides a source of light directed towards a blade of the saw. The light passes through a plurality of slots in an opaque barrier member. The barrier member planarizes the light such that a shadow of the saw blade is cast on a workpiece accurately indicating the location and width of a kerf, or cutting path, to be produced by the saw blade on the workpiece.
