Patent number: 11935088Abstract: The present disclosure involves systems, software, and computer implemented methods for automatically providing a lending offer for loyalty points based on a customer account analysis. One example method includes initiating an offer analysis for a customer account associated with a particular customer and storing an account balance and a point deficit balance. The offer analysis determines whether to provide an offer for a point loan, and is based on profile information of the customer, a current point balance, and a reward identified from the loyalty account. If an offer is to be provided, an offer for a loan of points equal to the difference between the current point balance of a loyalty account and the point value cost of the reward is transmitted to a client device of the customer. If accepted, the current point balance and the point deficit are both incremented by the amount of the offer.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2022Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: The Toronto-Dominion BankInventors: Adrian Bloy, Danielle Marie Mullenax, Dominic Elia, Michael James Taggart, Lance Lucas Leisher, Arlene Lori Maciver, Christiane Jewer, Ameya Warty, Javon Tavoy Findlator, Sean Michael Mullen, Stacey-Anne Callender, Jeffery Macdonald, Sheirline Hanna

Patent number: 7595001Abstract: A process and an apparatus are described for treating seven types of saline waters each having a concentration of total dissolved solids exceeding 1 g/L, wherein the concentration of total dissolved solids, the ratio of the chloride ion concentration to the bicarbonate ion concentration and the ratio of the chloride ion concentration to the sulphate ion concentration of each of the water types are as indicated in Table 1. The process includes the steps of contacting the water with a first reagent comprising a source of calcium ions selected from calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide to form a first solid product which is recovered. The process includes a further step of subjecting at least a portion of the partially processed water to at least partial evaporation so as to promote the formation of a precipitate and a mother liquor. The precipitate is recovered as a second product.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2003Date of Patent: September 29, 2009Assignee: GEO-Processors USA, Inc.Inventors: Aharon Arakel, Hongjun Tian, Lance James Stapleton

Patent number: 6887916Abstract: A latent material having various controlled shrinkage tensions and patterns and a method of making the same. The materials include polymer materials that are capable of absorbing microwave energy. Different degrees of shrinkage of the material may be controlled to create different tensions in the material. Additionally, various stereo and three-dimensional patterns may be generated on the material. These materials may be used in the formation of personal care articles. The materials are made by incorporating a polymer material onto the film, wherein the polymer material is capable of turning microwave energy into heat. Upon exposure to microwave radiation, the heat will cause the latent material to shrink. The use of different types and amounts of polymer materials will result in a latent material having different tensions and patterns.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2000Date of Patent: May 3, 2005Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Peiguang Zhou, Lance James Garrett, Jr.

Patent number: 6128391Abstract: A method and apparatus for asymmetrical key management in a cryptographic system is provided. Embodiments of the invention implement varying levels of diversification to manage the encryption keys. In one embodiment, a unique key per device approach is used that minimizes the risks due to unauthorized key access. In yet another embodiment, a unique key per device per transaction is used. The keys generated in embodiments of the invention can be used to authenticate one device with another. An authenticating device generates a current key that is initially unknown to an unauthenticated device. The authenticating device sends information to an unauthenticated device to assist it in determining the value of the current key. The unauthenticated device uses the determined value of the current key to derive the authenticating device's authentication value. Each device generates a authentication value that must be correctly determined by an unauthenticated device for successful authentication.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1997Date of Patent: October 3, 2000Assignee: Visa International Service AssociationInventors: Rodney Grant Denno, Lance James Johnson

Patent number: 5763041Abstract: A laminate suitable for use as the hook component of a hook-and-loop fastener. The laminate comprises a first extensible substantially non-elastic layer and a second layer comprising a nonwoven material. The nonwoven material is prebonded by a number of first spaced-apart bond sites to form first bonded and first unbonded areas. The second layer is attached to the first layer by a plurality of second spaced-apart bond sites to form a bulked laminate having a plurality of second bonded and second unbonded areas. The second bonded and second unbonded areas together define a surface area of said bulked laminate with said second bonded areas covering from about 5 to about 20 percent of the surface area. At least 50 percent of the second bonded areas have an area of less than about 4 square millimeters and have a density of greater than about 2 bonds per square centimeter.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1995Date of Patent: June 9, 1998Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: A.
