  • Publication number: 20200323231
Abstract: Non-dairy cheese analogs and/or semi-soft non-dairy analogs that are derived substantially from or wholly from non-animal sources and have, among other things, improved cohesiveness, compressibility characteristics and/or rupture characteristics. Certain exemplary embodiments are directed to formulations that may be used to produce non-dairy analogs as well as non-dairy cheese analogs comprising high acyl gellan gum. Also provided are processes for production of such non-dairy cheese analogs and formulations.

  • Publication number: 20190142024
Abstract: Provided are non-dairy yogurt analogs that have qualities similar to those of dairy-based yogurts. Certain embodiments are to plant-based yogurt analogs comprising fermented plant protein isolates and/or gelled plant protein isolates. Also provided are processes for production of such non-dairy yogurt analogs. For instance, a method for producing a plant-based yogurt mixture capable of being used to make a plant-based yogurt analog comprising the steps of: a) obtaining an essentially dairy-free base for a yogurt formulation that includes a plant-based derivative, such as a paste; and b) adding an acid to said formulation.

  • Patent number: 8114645
Abstract: The present invention provides methods of increasing production of an isoprenoid or an isoprenoid precursor in a host cell, the methods generally involving modulating the level of activity of a fatty acid biosynthetic pathway enzyme in the host cell and/or culturing the host cell in a culture medium comprising a fatty acid or a compound that can be metabolized in a cell or broken down in the medium to yield a fatty acid and/or culturing the host cell in a culture medium having increased osmolarity.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20080233623
Abstract: The present invention provides genetically modified host cells that exhibit modified activity levels of one or more gene products such that, when a cytochrome P450 enzyme is produced in the genetically modified host cell, the modified activity levels of the one or more gene products provide for enhanced production and/or activity of the cytochrome P450 enzyme. The present invention provides methods of producing a cytochrome P450 enzyme in a host cell, generally involving culturing a subject genetically modified host cell in a suitable culture medium. The present invention further provides methods of producing a product of a P450-dependent oxidation, generally involving culturing a subject genetically modified host cell in a suitable culture medium.
