Abstract: A stabiliser is attached to a ladder by a hinge at an angle to the vertical line of the stile so that the stabiliser is swung out from and away from the ladder to provide a stabilising support for the ladder.

Abstract: An adjustable attachment which can be used with routers or incorporated in routers making them safer, easier to use and more effective consists of a two part or compound base system rather than the single traditional router base plate, with each part separately performing the essential functions of the existing base plate. Separating the functions allows the router to be used with a number of interchangeable base plates with each individual plate being specially designed for the job in hand rather than being a general compromise solution. The attachments can include depth control systems.
