    Abstract: Money transfer requests are received from a remote location (such as from an off-shore ship). Enhanced security is provided by receiving, as part of a money transfer request, a device ID of an off-shore POS device at the remote location used to transmit the money transfer request and path IDs of one or more points in the path over the Internet that the message uses to reach a money transfer host. The device ID and path IDs are compared to data received in advance that specifies the IDs of an authorized device and authorized path.
