    Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for treating cancer in a subject by administering a therapeutically effective amount of a p73 protein activator, specifically a switcher compound. The method involves obtaining a subject with cancer, suspected of having cancer, or susceptible to cancer, and administering the switcher compound to reduce c-FLIP-L/S gene expression. This reduction sensitizes cancer cells to apoptosis induced by p73, thereby treating or preventing cancer in the subject. The administration of the switcher compound is configured to enhance the therapeutic efficacy by targeting the gene expression pathway, offering a novel approach to cancer treatment through the modulation of p73 protein activity.
