  • Patent number: 5492164
Abstract: A window safety system having a first and second vertical track installed as mirror images on opposite sides of a window frame. The system utilizes at least one elongate blocking element which extends across the window width and is secured to opposing guide elements which smoothly travel within the vertical tracks. A system cover is engaged at opposite ends to the vertical tracks to travel with lower window sash. The guide elements which are connected in series to one another by a flexible belt within the vertical tracks. The system cover interacts with a lower rail of a window sash such that when the window sash is raised to an open position, the system cover travels with the lower sash. This travel in turn causes the guide elements to translate within the vertical tracks and guiding blocking rods to a position laterally across the opening of the window. The blocking rods thereby prevent egress of a child or the like through the open window.

  • Patent number: 4014592
Abstract: A retractable baby or child's chair is provided. The chair is supported below a table top and is movable between a retracted, storage position and an extended, operable position. In a preferred form, a seat and back are mounted in a tubular frame which is slidably supported in tracks affixed to a lower surface of the table top. The frame, along with the seat and the back, then can slidably move between a retracted position under the table top and an extended position protruding beyond the edge of the table to support a child in an eating position. The seat and the back preferably are pivotally supported by the frame so as to fold when moved to the retracted position and not interfere with knee room under the table. Alternately, the baby chair can be constructed of angular channel members or can be of wood with a fixed seat and a pivoted back and arms.

  • Patent number: 3977722
Abstract: A retractable babies' or children's chair is provided. The chair has a tubular frame slidably supported in tracks affixed to the underside of a table top. The frame, along with a seat and a back, can be slidably moved between a retracted position under the table top and an extended position protruding beyond the edge of the table to support a child in an eating position. The back is pivotally connected to the seat with the seat being pivotally connected by links to the tubular frame. The back has hooks which can be engaged with the frame to hold the back and the seat in a fixed position relative to the frame. When the frame is under the table top, the seat and the back are pivotally swung up to a position adjacent the frame so as not to interfere with knee room under the table. The frame has supporting clips which hold the seat in the adjacent position when under the table. The frame is equipped with safety catches which automatially hook over the edge of the table when in the extended position.
