  • Publication number: 20040229502
Abstract: An electrical connector (1) includes an insulative housing, a terminal subassembly, an inner shell (60), an outer shell (71), a rear shell (72) and a pair of grounding tabs (50). The insulative housing (12) includes a mating portion (126) and a supporting portion (120). A pair of channels (127) are defined in the mating portion. The inner shell encloses the mating portion and the outer shell encloses both the insulative housing and the inner shell. A pair of grounding legs (63) extend oppositely from the inner shell, each having a projection protruded therefrom. The grounding legs are received in corresponding channels of the housing. Each grounding tab (50) includes a solder tail (54), a contacting portion (52) and intermediate portion (51) extending therebetween. The contacting portion is received in the corresponding channels and electrically connects to the grounding leg of the inner shell.

  • Patent number: 6379168
Abstract: A card edge connector includes an insulative housing defining a central slot for receiving a circuit board. A block is formed on an end of the housing and defines a cavity in an outside surface thereof. A socket defined by two opposing arc sections is formed inside the cavity. A switching button includes a pivot and first and second side sections extending from the pivot and inclined with respect to each other. The button is arranged in the cavity with the pivot rotatably received and retained in the socket whereby the button is rotatable about the pivot between a first position where the first side section is moved into the cavity while the second side section is moved out of the cavity and a second position where the first side section is moved out of the cavity while the second side section is moved into the cavity. A latch pin extends from the first side section.

  • Patent number: 6368124
Abstract: A card edge connector includes an insulative housing mounted on a mother board and defining a central slot for receiving a daughter board. Conductive contacts are retained in the housing for electrically engaging the daughter board. The contacts are soldered to the mother board for establishing electrical connection between the mother board and the daughter board. A relatively resilient retention arm extends from the housing and is deflectable from an initial position to a final position. The retention arm has an inner surface facing the circuit board and a latch projection extends from the inner surface for engaging a notch defined in the daughter board when the retention arm is in the initial position. The latch projection is disengaged from the notch of the daughter board when the retention arm is manually deflected to the final position. A relatively rigid stop arm extends from the housing and substantially opposes the resilient arm with a gap formed therebetween.
