  • Patent number: 5416942
Abstract: A motorized anti-plaque toothbrush comprises a handle (1) at one end of which is a cleaning/massaging head (3), in particular a brushing head, which rotates about an axis which is approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the handle (1) and is turned with a continuous one-way rotary motion or with a reciprocating rotary motion by a motor, preferably an electric motor, housed in the handle (1). According to the invention, the cleaning/massaging head (3) is composed of at least two separate cleaning/massaging tool parts (4, 5) that are supported coaxially with respect to each other in such a way that they can rotate relative to each other, being turned in mutually opposite directions in the case of continuous one-way rotation and in phase opposition to each other in the case of reciprocating rotation.

  • Patent number: 5220738
Abstract: A steam iron, particularly of the so called "drop-by-drop" type, where in order to cause an instantaneous steam production, the water which is contained in a reservoir (11) incorporated in the iron falls drop-by-drop into a vaporization chamber (2) provided in the inner side of the sole plate (1) of the iron in registry with the heating resistance of the sole plate (1), the so-generated steam being conveyed outwards through holes (7) in the sole plate (1). The iron is constituted by two parts (1,10) which are releasably fastened to each other by a latching device. One of the parts forms the body (10) of the iron, with the handle (110), the water reservoir (11), a portion of the latch, and the portion of the electrical connector with the diverting lug, while the other part forms the sole plate (1) of the iron with the electrical resistance, vaporization chamber (2), another portion of the latch, and the other portion of the electrical connector with the gate.

  • Patent number: 4335279
Abstract: To prevent unauthorized or prolonged telephone conversations, a limiting device is attachable to an ordinary telephone set by means of a padlock means with removable key. The device comprises a timer which can be set only when one of the shut-off pushbuttons of the telephone set is depressed. A knob is provided for setting the timer which is enabled to rotate a rotatable member of the timer only after the knob has been depressed. The knob is arranged such that this depression also involves the depression of one of the pushbuttons. The timer is also operative to depress either pushbutton as the preset conversation time expires. With such a device, it is not possible to reset the timer or retard the movement of the timer in order to prolong the conversation time, because such an attempt would unavoidably result in one of the pushbuttons being depressed on the telephone set and the communication being therefore interrupted.

  • Patent number: 4189241
Abstract: An ice-cream making machine for household use is described comprising a box-like bracket fixed to a motor and two containers for the mixture to be whisked. The two containers are closed by corresponding removable covers and the bracket pivotally supports gear wheels driven by the motor through drive gears also supported by the bracket and engageable with stirring vane carrying spindles supported by the covers. The spindles are in turn effective to engage with and disengage from the gear wheels as the covers are latched to and released from the containers.
