Abstract: A locking device for a Whisler style adapter, which has upper and lower legs flanking an excavator lip having aligned openings and which are adapted to receive a wedge and C-clamp lock, the lock including a C-clamp and cooperating wedge which are spaced apart, and interposed therebetween is a spring loaded keeper member so as to permit movement of the adapter relative to the lip under an applied load.
