  • Patent number: 6620828
Abstract: Diaminothiazole compounds that modulate and/or inhibit the activity of certain protein kinases are described. These compounds and pharmaceutical compositions containing them are capable of mediating tyrosine kinase signal transduction in order to modulate and/or inhibit unwanted cell proliferation. The invention is also directed to the therapeutic or prophylactic use of pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds, and to methods of treating cancer as well as other disease states associated with unwanted angiogenesis and/or cellular proliferation, such as diabetic retinopathy, neovascular glaucoma, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis, by administering effective amounts of such compounds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 15, 2001
Date of Patent: September 16, 2003
    Assignee: Agouron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Inventors: Shao Song Chu, Larry Andrew Alegria, Steven Lee Bender, Suzanne Pritchett Benedict, Allen J. Borchardt, Robert Steve Kania, Mitchell David Nambu, Anna Maria Tempczyk-Russell, Sepehr Sarshar, Dilip Bhumralkar, Zhengwei Peng, Michelle Yang

  • Patent number: 6155601
Abstract: A vehicle seat assembly for protecting an occupant of a vehicle from injury includes a seat assembly having a seat back and a seat bottom, a pair of side bolsters disposed on each side of the seat back, a combined seat/lap belt and shoulder belt restraint which is affixed directly to the seat assembly, and a secondary shoulder restraint affixed to the seat assembly. The seat bottom includes a front portion and a ramp upwardly sloped towards the front portion of the seat bottom. A cushion constructed of a rate sensitive compression material having a compressive response to a slow application of force and a rigid response to a rapid application of force is disposed adjacent to the seat ramp.

  • Patent number: 5812429
Abstract: An adaptive digital filter for filtering noise from a binary signal having a baseline that is low and including valid pulses that are high, a system for monitoring a rotating element employing such an adaptive digital filter, and a method for filtering. The adaptive filter discriminates noise pulses from valid pulses by eliminating pulses of shorter duration than a specified high time threshold and eliminating pulse occurring prior to the expiration of a specified low time threshold from the filtered signal generated by the filter from the binary signal. The filter also includes a mechanism for analyzing the filtered signal and dynamically and automatically adjusting the specified high time threshold and specified low time threshold based on timing changes in the filtered signal. A method of filtering is also presented whereby the specified high time and low time thresholds are adjusted dynamically in accordance with the timing data calculated by the filter.

  • Patent number: 4258323
Abstract: An apparatus for locating an electrical leakage fault path relative to a cathodically protected buried pipe utilizes a conductor wire having a first end connected to the pipe and a second end wound on a reel including a level winding and distance measuring mechanism and connected to electrical signal monitoring components. An electrode in an earth cutting blade is also connected to the monitoring components and is mounted to a drafting structure for moving the blade through the earth generally over the buried pipe a sufficient depth to continuously encounter and sense electrical current indicating a flow or break in the cathodic protection of the pipe. The drafting structure includes a hitch for connection to a suitable vehicle and a regulating mechanism for controlling the depth of the blade into the earth.
