  • Publication number: 20050109304
Abstract: An automatic compression release mechanism for in an internal combustion engine, includes a camshaft assembly including a cam gear, a cam lobe with a notch positioned along a first side of the gear, a tube passing through the cam gear and aligned with the notch, and a support on a second side of the cam gear. An actuator assembly includes a contoured shaft that extends through the tube and resides in the notch. The actuator assembly is rotatable between two operating orientations and a step formed in the surface of the notch prevents the actuator from becoming disabled during engine shut down.

  • Patent number: 5980143
Abstract: A wrist rest assembly has a base and a layer of resilient gel supported above the base. The wrist rest assembly is for use adjacent a device operated by a person's hands or fingers, such as a computer keyboard, lap-top or portable computer, computer mouse or other input device. A layer of resilient nonwoven material is disposed between the base and at least a portion of the layer of gel to define, in combination with the layer of gel, a resilient wrist rest support structure supported from the base. A flexible liquid-impervious layer is disposed between the layer of resilient gel and the layer of resilient nonwoven web material.

  • Patent number: 5011187
Abstract: A binding system including a method for binding connected fan folded sheets in which a stack of the sheets is shingled to disclose narrow side surface portions along their spine edges, a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive on a highly flexible backing is adhered to those spine edges and narrow side surface portion after which the spine edges are moved into alignment at a right angle to the side surfaces of the sheets to cause the backing and layer of pressure sensitive adhesive to pleat around the spines of the sheets. The system also includes a novel cover structure which facilitates the method and includes cover plates, the pressure sensitive adhesive and the backing; and a novel device for holding and positioning the sheets during binding.

  • Patent number: 4315608
Abstract: A mandrel which, when inserted into the inner cylindrical surface of a tape roll core, permits the core to be rotatably mounted in a dispenser. The mandrel has two generally triangular opposed end plates connected at corresponding corners by three arcuate plates. Each end plate has a cylindrical stub shaft extending outward perpendicularly to define the axis of the mandrel. The arcuate plates are spaced to define segments of a cylinder coaxial with the axis of the mandrel. Each arcuate plate has a rib extending axially along its convex surface; when the mandrel is inserted into a tape roll core, these ribs engage the inner cylindrical surface of the core. A mandrel of this structure is particularly suited for manufacture by an injection molding process.

  • Patent number: 4014257
Abstract: Apparatus for supporting a die plate having indicia formed thereon by a raised rib and for forcing a tape into engagement with the raised rib to cut indicia from said tape corresponding to the indicia on the die. The apparatus utilizes a flat platen supporting one side of the die, a roller mounted on a movable frame and spring biased toward the die plate. A tape is guided across the surface of the die plate at an oblique angle to the direction of movement of the roller such that to cut alphabetic or numerical indicia the cutting is generally taking place at spaced points on the surface of the roller and generally no cuts are made along a line defining a portion of the indicia. The apparatus is cycled by an operating lever to move the roller across the surface of the tape under sufficient spring pressure to afford the cutting operation and then the roller is retracted as the operating handle is returned to the normal position.

  • Patent number: 4011977
Abstract: An applicating machine for applying short lengths of flexible fibrous material having an adhesive coating to a surface. The applicator uses a pair of fingers to hold the fibrous material onto the surface of an applicating pad and a rod to strip the material from the fingers. The fingers are initially spaced from the pad to permit a measured length of flexible material to be moved between the pad and the fingers. The fingers are then retracted to a closed holding position. The fingers support the length of material during the severing of a short length of material by cutting means and while the applicating pad transports the severed strip to the surface for application. The measured length of the flexible material to be dispensed and applied, the applicating pad, and the fingers are moved downward the severed length of fibrous material being applied to a product.
