    Abstract: A chuck mechanism includes an axially fixed part-positioning pilot coaxially surrounded by a fixed hollow closure sleeve. A cylindrical carrier slides within the sleeve and carries a plurality of part-engaging jaws. A dual area piston is pressure-operated and coupled to the carrier to move the carrier to open and close the jaws.
