  • Publication number: 20110301611
Abstract: A surgical device of a drill/driver with bit recognition to set a desired application mode and a method of utilization thereof is provided. Various operating modes of the drill/driver are automatically set by a sensor which recognizes the bit applied to the drill/driver. A method of utilizing the drill/driver allows the drill driver to apply surgical screws at very high speeds while automatically preventing excessive torque levels that would strip out the surgical screw from the patient's bone.

  • Publication number: 20110201124
Abstract: An ozone detection system includes a source of sample gas containing a concentration of ozone. The system further includes a first airflow passageway for receiving a first sample of gas from the source. The first airflow passageway includes a catalytic scrubber to reduce ozone content in the sample gas and a second airflow passageway receives a second sample of gas from the source. A third airflow passageway results from the convergence of the first and second airflow passageways wherein the reduced sample gas and the unaltered sample gas are combined to form a diluted sample gas. A sensor is provided for sensing the ozone concentration in the diluted sample gas received from the third airflow passageway. A processor is provided operative to calculate the actual concentration of ozone in the sample gas as a function of the sensed concentration of the diluted sample.

  • Publication number: 20110092187
Abstract: A land-based or mobile phone and methods are provided for receiving inbound communications as either voice or text, and then based on the user's configuration settings, the inbound communication is provided to the user as it was received or is automatically converted into a format that is desired by the user. The phone also takes voice or text that is input by the user of the phone and converts the user's input to either voice or text based on the configuration settings stored in the user's contact list or otherwise. The outbound communication is configured according to how the intended recipient wants to receive a communication based on the configuration settings stored in the user's contact list or otherwise. The phone includes a controller that determines how the phone will handle and process inbound and outbound communications. The controller includes a speech recognition engine.

  • Patent number: 7575866
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and compositions which utilize binding relationships between detector molecules and their ligands for labeling molecules of interest in vivo. A “target” molecule is linked to a detector molecule (such as a protein or a nucleic acid) and the function and/or location of the target molecule is monitored by binding the detector molecule its ligand, which carries a detectable label. In particular embodiments of the invention, an intracellular fusion protein comprising a target protein and a detector protein is bound to a membrane-permeable, fluorescently-labeled ligand of the detector protein, thereby providing an adjunct or alternative to Green Fluorescent Protein.
