Patent number: 12162461Abstract: Towed vehicles can be extremely heavy. Accordingly, it is too much of a burden to the braking system of a towing vehicle to not have brakes on the towed vehicle. Controlling the brakes of the towed vehicle must be accurately applied otherwise undesirable conditions can be created. There is a need for a method for controlling braking of a towed vehicle. This method comprises receiving a first signal via a communication bus of a towing vehicle, the first signal relating to at least one operating condition of at least one the towing vehicle and a towed vehicle, sending a second signal to brakes of the towed vehicle, the second signal based on said first signal.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2021Date of Patent: December 10, 2024Assignee: Horizon Global Americas Inc.Inventors: Marcia Albright, Chandrakumar Kulkarni, Jerald Prater, Jason Reichard, Dennis Morse, Mark Austin, Pat Burgess, Marvin Hoot, Larry Eccleston, Steve Zavodny

Patent number: 12134125Abstract: Methods for manufacturing rotary target materials that allow a material to be cast in a melting zone of a casting vessel while the vessel is rotated such that a melting zone is below a casting zone. The vessel is sealed and the pressure inside the vessel is reduced and the exterior of the vessel is heated. The melting zone of the vessel is heated to a temperature that melts the material and releases any trapped gasses which can be pumped out using the vacuum pump. Once the melting zone and molten material have reached a specified temperature, outgassed, and the casting zone has reached a temperature to maximize adhesion and reduce voids and defects, the vessel is rotated until the melting zone is directly above the casting zone to transfer the material from the melting zone to the casting zone.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2021Date of Patent: November 5, 2024Assignee: Junora LTDInventors: Dean Plaisted, Nancy Norberg, Paul Carter, Larry Ferrin, Patrick Morse

Patent number: 8308087Abstract: The present invention provides an injection nozzle for mixing an initiator with a process fluid. Then injection nozzle comprises a body comprising an inlet port, and outlet port, and an injector inlet; a process fluid flow passage; an initiator flow fluid passage; and a stylus. The process fluid flow passage comprises a constricting portion and an expanding portion to help improve transport and mixing. The injection nozzle is useful for injecting a fluid into another fluid at elevated temperatures and pressures, and for maximizing mixing of the fluids.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2010Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: Dow Global Technologies LLCInventors: Otto J. Berbee, John T. Keating, Gerrit Hommersom, Larry A. Morse, Werner Zschoch

Publication number: 20110278379Abstract: An initiator injection nozzle for mixing an initiator with a process fluid, comprising: a body comprising an inlet port to receive the process fluid, an outlet port, and an injector inlet to receive initiator; a process fluid flow passage through which the process fluid traverses between the inlet port and outlet port along a central process flow axis, further comprising a constricting portion, a throat, and an expanding portion in that order, —an initiator fluid flow passage through which the initiator traverses between the injector inlet and injector outlet along an injector central vertical axis, where the initiator fluid flow passage intersects the process fluid flow passage in the constricting portion; a stylus at least partially containing the initiator fluid flow passage and further comprising a shaped injector tip forming the injector outlet of the initiator fluid flow passage; where the injector outlet is located in the constricting portion of the process fluid flow passage and upstream of the throatType: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2010Publication date: November 17, 2011Applicant: DOW GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES LLCInventors: Otto J. Berbee, John T. Keating, Gerrit Hommersom, Larry A. Morse, Werner Zschoch

Publication number: 20100193607Abstract: A tube reactor system containing a process fluid, comprising: at least one fresh feed source for supplying ethylene into a process fluid; a primary compressor for pressurizing the process fluid to reaction conditions in fluid communication with both the at least one fresh feed source and a recycle conduit; a reactor tube for converting a portion of the ethylene and optionally at least one comonomer within the process fluid into a low density ethylene-based polymer and a remaining portion of ethylene in fluid communication with the primary compressor; a high pressure separator for separating the low density ethylene-based polymer from the remaining portion of ethylene in fluid communication with the reactor tube; the recycle conduit in fluid communication with the high pressure separator for conveying the remaining portion of ethylene to the primary compressor; where the improvement comprises a reactor tube further comprising at least one initiator injection nozzle in fluid communication with an initiator sType: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2010Publication date: August 5, 2010Applicant: Dow Global Technologies Inc.Inventors: Otto J. Berbee, John T. Keating, Gerrit Hommersom, Larry A. Morse, Werner Zschoch

Publication number: 20070179702Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a combined receiver and power adapter. The adapter generally includes a coupling element operable to couple with a power source, a receiver operable to wirelessly receive information, a housing operable to house the coupling element and the receiver, and a connection element operable to couple the coupling element and the receiver with an electronic device. Coupling of the connection element with the electronic device enables the adapter to provide power and/or received information to the electronic device. Such a configuration enables the electronic device to be provided with power and information without requiring the use of a plurality of cables or numerous external housings.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 27, 2006Publication date: August 2, 2007Inventors: Clifton Pemble, Larry Morse, Michael Wiegers

Publication number: 20070178877Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an integrated receiver and power adapter (10). The adapter (10) generally includes a coupling element (12) operable to couple with a power source (S), a receiver (14) operable to wirelessly receive information, a housing (16) operable to house the receiver (14), and a connection element (18) operable to couple with an electronic device (D). Coupling of the connection element (18) with the electronic device (D) enables the adapter (10) to provide power and/or received information to the electronic device (D). Such a configuration enables the electronic device (D) to be provided with power and information without requiring the use of a plurality of cables or numerous external housings.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2006Publication date: August 2, 2007Inventors: Clifton Pemble, Larry Morse, Michael Wiegers
