  • Publication number: 20170292294
Abstract: A latch dogging assembly comprises an electromagnet and an actuator mounted on a bracket. A guide slide is pivotally mounted on the bracket with a lead block coupled to the guide slide. A guide pin rides along an inner surface of the bracket causing the guide slide to pivot. A pawl is slidably engaged with the guide slide. A guide link includes a post. An armature is mounted to the panic bar and the post engages the pawl. When the actuator is energized to move the lead block, the pawl engages the post to pivot the armature and thereby cause the panic bar to move from the extended position to the depressed position. When the electromagnet is energized the armature is magnetically held preventing reverse pivoting of the guide link. A method for fully retracting a door latch is also provided.

  • Patent number: 9783944
Abstract: A system and method to create or elevate a berm of a liquid retention facility by placement of lightweight fill material anchored by an impervious liner material(s). The impervious liner material is integral to a water retention system such as a containment system of a retention pond. The system and method can also be used to elevate the liquid retention height of a levee in combination with impervious liner retention material. By constructing the berm system on an existing levee, the effective height of the levee can be increased. The lightweight fill material provides the shape of the berm or levee extension. The liquid impervious liner material provides a watertight surface, the media for joining of the lightweight fill material, and the anchoring of the lightweight fill material to the existing berm or levee structure.

  • Patent number: 9784321
Abstract: A wheel-end disconnect assembly for translating rotational torque between an output shaft and a wheel hub of a vehicle driveline. A knuckle bracket at least partially supports the wheel hub. A clutch is operatively attached to the knuckle bracket, is disposed in selective torque translating relationship between the output shaft and the wheel hub, and is movable between: an engaged configuration wherein torque is translated between the output shaft and the wheel hub, and a disengaged configuration wherein torque is interrupted. An electromagnetic actuator is provided and has a slider selectively movable between a first stable position and a second stable position. The actuator is disposed in force translating relationship with the clutch such that movement from one stable position to the other stable position causes corresponding movement of the clutch between the configurations so as to selectively translate rotational torque between the output shaft and the wheel hub.
