  • Patent number: 10014734
Abstract: An electromagnetic device is provided. It includes a plurality of input magnetic field generating devices, which will induce magnetic fields in output current generating devices. In one construction, the electromagnetic device can be operably coupled to a work input device wherein the electromagnetic device can be used as a generator set in combination with the energy input device. The input and output magnetic devices are arranged in radial arrays about a work input shaft. The output magnetic devices each include a core and a respective coil with the cores each having a longitudinal axis generally parallel to the axis of rotation of the shaft. The input devices and the output devices are mounted in respective carriers with the output device carrier being movable relative to the input device carrier.

  • Patent number: 9188200
Abstract: A multi-speed transmission may include an input member and an output member disposed in a housing. A first planetary gear set, a second planetary gear set, a third planetary gear set, and a fourth planetary gear set may be disposed within the housing, each planetary gear set including a sun gear, a planet carrier, and a ring gear. Six control elements may be operably coupled to each of the planetary gear sets and selectively engagable to create a set of different gear ratios between the input member and the output member. The set of different gear ratios may include at least ten forward gear ratios and at least one reverse gear ratio.

  • Publication number: 20130020192
Abstract: A wind turbine for use in the generation of electricity employs a generator which enables the efficient production of DC electrical power through the use of a low and variable speed and variable torque design. This design eliminates the cost and complexity of variable pitch turbine blades and/or mechanical gear boxes. The design includes a large diameter axial flux generator which utilizes either permanent magnets or current induced field coils. The design preferably employs an equal number of armature coils and field coils or permanent magnets in the case of single phase operation or 1? field coils or permanent magnets for every armature coil for three phase operation. The three phase operation can also be accomplished by using three separate rotor disks on the generator with appropriate indexing of the rotor disk and armature coils.

  • Patent number: 4559671
Abstract: A sterile handle cover is disclosed for covering a lamp handle of a surgical lamp to provide a sterile surface for adjustment of the lamp by an operator. The handle cover comprises a grip portion defined by a first and a second end. An end wall is integrally attached proximate the first end of the grip portion to form a hollow container open at the second end. A protector is connected to the second end of the grip portion and extends radially outwardly for protecting the hand of the operator from contacting portions of the surgical lamp proximate the lamp handle. A plurality of ribs are disposed in the grip portion for frictionally engaging the lamp handle of the surgical lamp to maintain the position of the handle cover thereon.
