    Abstract: A coupling is provided for connecting a lance pipe to an oxygen supply line. The lance pipe supplies oxygen to molten metal in a furnace and is fed thereinto longitudinally by feed rolls as the end of the pipe burns off. The coupling automatically closes a supply valve in the supply line and then disconnects the line from the lance pipe as the trailing end of the pipe reaches the feed rolls of the furnace.
