  • Patent number: 7946370
Abstract: A work machine includes a frame supported for movement over the ground, a prime mover for driving movement of the frame, an operator compartment supported on the frame and a cradle coupling the operator compartment to the frame. The cradle is pivotable between an operating position and a service position and includes a biasing mechanism for biasing cradle toward the service position and an isolation mount coupling the operator compartment to the cradle. The isolation mount permits deflection of the operator compartment relative to the cradle along a selected axis. A latch mechanism releasably couples the cradle to the frame and a handle is provided for actuating the latch mechanism. The isolation mount includes a deformable member having a void defining the selected axis. The axis can be aligned with a force exerted on the cradle by the operator compartment to reduce stress on the biasing member.

  • Patent number: 7798260
Abstract: A track vehicle includes a cab operable to support an operator. Left and right motors each rotate an output shaft at a first speed, and a speed reduction system is operably coupled to each output shaft. Left and right drive shafts are driven by the speed reduction system at a second speed that is slower than the first speed. Left and right drive sprockets are mounted for rotation with the respective first and second drive shafts. Left and right track carriages support the cab and left and right tracks are mounted for rotation about the track carriages in response to rotation of the respective left and right drive shafts, such that the left and right tracks are driven by the left and right drive sprockets to move the track vehicle along a ground surface.

  • Patent number: 7396070
Abstract: A loader has an operator's station, comprising a cab with an operator's seat that is mounted on a pivot at the forward portions of the operator's station. An actuator is mounted between the operator's station and a loader frame to tilt the operator's station about the pivot a limited number of degrees when operating accessories mounted on a forward portion of the loader frame. The accessory is shown as a backhoe, and the forward tilting of the operator's station permits increased the downward field of view for an operator to observe the lower end of a digging arm of a backhoe at greater depths than with a fixed position operator's station.

  • Patent number: 7296862
Abstract: A track frame or undercarriage is made to support a rubber track on suitable guide rollers. A tensioning roller is provided as one of the guide rollers on the interior of the track and is mounted on a pivoting bracket. The pivoting bracket moves the tensioning roller to a working position for creating tension in the track. An actuator provides a known force on the pivoting bracket to move the tensioning roller to its working position, using a controlled pressure applied to the actuator. Drive sprockets for the track are mounted onto a drive case that is mounted to the frame through pivoting linkages such that the drive case and the drive sprocket can be held in a working position and retracted away from the track. The position of the tensioning roller is maintained within set limits of retractions during use, by providing a stop to limit the amount that the tensioning roller can retract.

  • Patent number: 7290977
Abstract: An actuator operated apparatus for mounting and hydraulically coupling a working attachment to a mounting plate of a work vehicle. The apparatus receives a portion of pressurized fluid from the work vehicle to actuate a pair of wedges that slidably move to lock or unlock the working attachment and the mounting plate. The apparatus receives a remaining portion of the pressurized fluid from the work vehicle to engage or disengage at least one hydraulic coupler of a first coupling block and at least one hydraulic coupler of a second coupling block.

  • Patent number: 7231993
Abstract: A track driven machine has a pair of track frames on opposite sides thereof, and each of the track frames has a pair of laterally extending arms fixed thereto. The arms are joined to a machine frame only through vibration isolating elastomeric blocks that carry compression loads from the arms to the machine frame. The elastomeric blocks are held in place with bolts that pass through openings in the machine frame. There are second elastomeric blocks above each of the first blocks to support downward movement of the arms relative to the machine frame.

  • Patent number: 7059238
Abstract: A fluid pressure cylinder assembly is provided with a sensor for sensing the extension of a piston rod from a tubular cylinder. The tubular cylinder has a base block that seals the end of the tubular cylinder with an inner wall. The inner wall has a threaded bore for receiving the sensor housing, which has an elongated sensor rod passing into an axial bore in the piston rod. The piston rod carries a sensor element that moves relative to the elongated sensor rod. The inner wall is at an inner end of an access bore in the base block. The sensor is threaded into a bore in the inner wall using a socket that has a slot to permit a sensor lead to extend to the exterior of the socket and out of the access bore so the lead rotates with the socket in the access bore while the sensor is tightened in place. The base block is provided with a slot that extends to the exterior of the base block so that when installed the sensor lead can be extended out through the slot for connection to suitable controls.

  • Patent number: 6910731
Abstract: A skid steer loader has an operator's cab mounted thereon pivoting about a horizontal pivot adjacent a forward edge of the frame of the loader and at the forward edge of the operator's cab. In a working position the cab overlies a portion of the frame that has operating components therein, and the cab can be pivoted to raise the rear of the cab to pivot it forwardly to an open position to permit access to components beneath the cab when its in its working position. The cab has positive latches for holding it in its working position, and an automatic stop to hold it in its open position. The latches are operated by levers on the back wall of the cab that are moved between a latched and unlatched position, and when they are in their unlatched position, a cover for the engine components cannot be closed.

  • Patent number: 6871697
Abstract: A combined liquid tank and fan air flow housing is molded as a unit to combine needed functions in a compact preassembled unit. Separate spaced side tank portions are formed that are joined together with a front end tank to form a central opening with upper and lower ends. The opening is closed with a top plate that defines a plenum chamber and a lower fan support plate that forms a fan chamber in the central opening. A fan in the fan chamber creates an airflow from the exterior through the plenum chamber and out lateral ducts formed in the side tank portions. The inlet air flows through an oil cooler, water radiator and if desired, an air conditioner condenser in the plenum chamber. The tank formed is used for storage of hydraulic fluid.

  • Patent number: 6866466
Abstract: A lift arm assembly for a skid steer loader comprises a pair of lift arm links that are pivotally mounted together at first ends of the links. A first lift arm link is of substantial length and is pivotally mounted to the frame of the skid steer loader adjacent the rear lower portion of the frame and extends upwardly. A second lift arm link extends forwardly from the first lift arm link pivot to a position ahead of the skid steer loader frame. A control link is provided that has one end pivotally mounted to the loader frame adjacent a forward end of the loader frame, and a second end pivotally mounted to the second lift arm link to guide the second lift arm link as it is raised. An extendable and retractable actuator is pivotally mounted at a first end to the first lift arm link adjacent to the pivot of the first lift arm link to the frame. A second end of the actuator is pivotally mounted to the second lift arm link forwardly of the first lift arm length link.

  • Patent number: 6860707
Abstract: A lift arm assembly has a pair of lift arms that are pivotally mounted onto the frame of a loader that has a forwardly pivoting cab. The forward ends of the lift arms each have a front frame assembly that is secured to the respective lift arm. The front frame assemblies includes separate box section frames with depending leg portions that have pivots at lower ends thereof for supporting attachments for the loader. The upper ends of the box section frames have sockets that receive the lift arms. The depending portions are offset inwardly from the lift arms, and tilt cylinders for controlling the pivoting of attachments are mounted on the depending portions to align with connections for loader attachments while providing clearance above the depending portions for forward pivoting of the cab. The depending portions are secured together with a torsion resisting cross member adjacent the lower ends to provide rigidity to the lift arm assembly.
