  • Publication number: 20190211956
Abstract: A clamp guide for joining a flexible hose to a rigid, hollow shaft were the rigid, hollow shaft has a head bead and two other beads includes an end clamp for interfacing with the head bead and two legs extending from the end clamp. Each of the legs has two bumps. The bumps are aligned with a corresponding bead of the two other beads thereby forming two registration areas, one between the end clamp and a first of the two bumps and another registration area between the two bumps.

  • Publication number: 20140300101
Abstract: A clamp guide for joining a flexible hose to a rigid, hollow shaft has an arced first bump for interfacing with a head bead of at least two beads of the rigid, hollow shaft and has two legs. The legs extend from ends of the arced first bump, each having at least one bump aligned with subsequent beads of the at least two beads thereby forming registration areas between adjacent bumps. At least one lateral support extends from at least one of the legs at an edge of the legs at the registration area. Each of the lateral supports has a shape of a segment of a cylinder having an inner diameter approximately equal to an outer diameter of the flexible hose.

  • Patent number: 8707538
Abstract: A clamp tool that has stop edges and ear edges is disclosed. In one embodiment, stop edges close against each other while the ear edges, being cut deeper than the stop edges, do not touch each other and provide a space between which an ear of a clamp is position and closed by the clamp tool without cutting or nicking unnecessarily into the ear of the clamp. The width of the stop edges is predetermined to provide an alignment for proper alignment of the clamp on a hose that obscures features of a fitting that is positioned beneath the hose.

  • Patent number: 8628118
Abstract: A removable and reusable multiple application fitting is disclosed that enables removal of the hose without significant damage to the hose. The removable and reusable multiple application fitting properly seals with hoses made of only one compound, such as rubber, as well as hoses of multiple compounds with or without linings, such as a rubber hose with a plastic lining. The multiple application fitting has a taper step and o-ring step to guide a hose over an installed o-ring to prevent the o-ring from being displaced during installation. The multiple application fitting is versatile and in some embodiments is used with hoses that require o-rings, and in other embodiments used with hoses that do not.

  • Patent number: 8342578
Abstract: An application for a clamp guide for joining a flexible hose to a rigid, hollow shaft having at least two beads, the clamp guide has an arced surface for interfacing with a head bead of the at least two beads and two clamp guide arms. Each of the clamp guide arms has at least two bumps and each bump is aligned with one of the beads thereby forming registration areas between each pair of bumps. The arced surface has an inner diameter equal to an outer diameter of the rigid, hollow shaft and the arced surface has an inner circumferential length greater than one half of the circumference of the rigid, hollow shaft.

  • Patent number: 6206048
Abstract: The steps include cutting an old ferrule and hose from a bead lock fitting, inserting axially a new ferrule having an oval or irregular opening over the bead lock fitting and wedging an edge of the oval opening between two annular flanges on the bead lock fitting. Thereafter, a new hose is inserted axially between the ferrule and bead lock fitting and the ferrule is crimped to the hose to permanently lock it into position over the bead lock fitting.

  • Patent number: 5353623
Abstract: A portable tool for crimping a ferrel portion of a tube fitting around a hose is provided. The tool has an upper and lower frame. The upper frame has a means for stabilizing an upper die carrier which encloses an upper die insert. The lower frame encloses a lower die insert. A compression shaft is inserted through an aperture formed in the upper frame for moving the upper die carrier along a vertical axis of the tool. A means for pivoting the upper frame in relation to the lower frame is provided to allow a user to open and close the tool. A locking means is further provided permitting the upper frame to be locked to the lower frame during a crimping procedure. The compression shaft can be actuated manually, electrically, or hydraulically. The tool may further be set into a framed housing for use in a manufacturing environment.
