  • Publication number: 20150074057
Abstract: A method and system for selective preservation of materials related to discovery is described herein. The method includes the step of receiving at a computing device a preservation notification based on a litigation event against an enterprise that warrants preservation of related documents. In response to the receipt of the preservation notification, the computing device can be placed in a preservation mode. As part of the preservation mode, materials from at least enterprise materials on the computing device that are to be preserved for discovery can be identified. In addition, the computing device may be a personal computing device of an associate of the enterprise. The method can also include the step of automatically creating back-up copies of the identified materials to comply with preservation requirements related to the litigation event.

  • Publication number: 20140164946
Abstract: A method and system for selectively tagging received messages is described herein. The method may include the step of delivering a message to a first recipient and a second recipient such that the first recipient receives a copy of the message and the second recipient receives a copy of the message. The method may also include the step of receiving a save command from the first recipient in which the save command is a directive to save the copy of the delivered message received by the first recipient in a database that provides access rights to both the first recipient and the second recipient. In response to the copy of the delivered message received by the first recipient being saved in the database, the copy of the delivered message received by the second recipient can be tagged with a save indicator to enable the second recipient to determine that the delivered message has been saved in the database.

  • Publication number: 20120221666
Abstract: A system and method of controlling access to one or more electronic devices is disclosed. The method can include the step of—out of a plurality of electronic devices—identifying a master device and a slave device. The master device can be configured to control access to at least one feature of the slave device, and the master device can be associated with a person who has supervisory authority over another person who uses the slave device. During an active session on the slave device, a pre-disablement warning can be sent to the slave device in which the pre-disablement warning can identify a first time period by which access to the feature of the slave device is to be prevented. A disablement message can be sent to the slave device, thereby preventing access to the feature of the slave device following the expiration of the first time period.

  • Patent number: 8135432
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing a communication link in a communication network are provided. A continuous actuation button is configured to initiate a communication link between communication devices. The communication link is initiated when a force applied on the continuous actuation button exceeds a first force threshold. The force applied on the continuous actuation button is sampled at periodic time intervals. A release event of the continuous actuation button is detected when the force applied on the continuous actuation button reaches a second force threshold. The communication link is maintained for a predefined period of time after detecting the release event based on whether the sampled force indicates that the release event was unintentional. The predefined period of time is sufficient to allow a user to take action to avoid disconnection if undesired.

  • Publication number: 20090153340
Abstract: A method for managing a communication link in a communication network (100) is provided. The method enables exchange of data between a first communication device (102) and at least one second communication device (104). The method includes providing a continuous actuation button (210) configured to initiate the communication link. Further, the method includes initiating the communication link when a force applied on the continuous actuation button exceeds a first force threshold. Furthermore, the method includes sampling the force applied on the continuous actuation button at periodic time intervals. Moreover, the method includes detecting a release event of the continuous actuation button when the force applied on the continuous actuation button reaches a second force threshold. Moreover, the method includes maintaining the communication link for a predefined period of time after detecting the release event at the continuous actuation button. The communication link is maintained based on the sampled force.

  • Publication number: 20070268864
Abstract: A system (100) and method (500, 600, or 700) of enhancing social networking through random location connectivity can include a transceiver (212) and a processor (210) operatively coupled to the transceiver. The transceiver can be a part of a cellular or camera phone for example. The processor can be programmed to request (502) a random connection to a wireless device in a given local area and receive the random connection to the wireless device among devices on a list of available wireless devices. The system can further include a location server (106) and a social network server (108) that receives the request for the random connection from the transceiver and that has access to the list of available wireless devices in the given local area from the location server. The location server and the social network server can be coupled to each other via the Internet (105).

  • Patent number: 4786057
Abstract: The invention is concerned with an apparatus for use in perfecting a golfer's backswing so that his club swings close to the ground. The apparatus includes a base to which a pivoting flap and a golf tee are mounted. The flap is positioned on a swing arm rotatably mounted with respect to the tee. The flap remains in a vertical position until struck by a golf club during a golfer's backswing whereupon the flap moves to a horizontal position to allow the golfer to continue to move the club in the proper path during his forward swing.
