  • Patent number: 7978688
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for enabling communication between telephony devices. The apparatus includes a queue operable to receive incoming media packets from the telephony devices, and a payload segmenter coupled to the queue and operable to divide an incoming payload section of each incoming packet into one or more data segments. The apparatus also includes a mixer coupled to the payload segmenter and operable to mix the data segments from the telephony devices to create an aggregate data segment. Furthermore, the apparatus includes a reassembly buffer coupled to the mixer and operable to construct an outgoing payload section for one or more telephony devices by linking successively generated aggregate data segments.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 29, 2010
Date of Patent: July 12, 2011
    Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.
Inventors: Larry G. Michalewicz, Ronald D. Higgins

  • Patent number: 7302050
Abstract: A method and system for independent participant control of audio during a multiparty communication session includes receiving an audio stream from each of a plurality of participants to a multiparty communication connection. An audio control signal is received from a participant for an audio stream of another participant. A conference output stream is generated for the participant by applying an audio parameter based on the audio control signal to the audio stream.

  • Patent number: 7079495
Abstract: A communication network is provided that includes a unicast telephony device, and a plurality of multicast telephony devices operable to receive multicast media streaming transmitted to a multicast group address. The communication network further includes a multicast intermediary operable to receive multicast media streaming sent to the multicast group address. The multicast intermediary is further operable to communicate the media streaming to the unicast telephony device to enable the unicast telephony device to participate in the multicast communication with the multicast telephony devices.

  • Patent number: 6826708
Abstract: A method and system for logging debugging information for a communication connection includes receiving a user initiated signal indicating a problem with a communication connection. In response to at least the user initiated signal, a type of debugging information not previously logged for the communication connection is logged for the communication connection.
