  • Patent number: 4591555
Abstract: A method of detection of neoplastic tissue comprising, providing a first solution, the first solution comprising cytosol malate dehydrogenase from a mammalian test tissue, determining a first rate or a first function of the first rate at which the first solution catalyzes the reaction of oxaloacetate to malate, comparing the first rate or first function of the first rate with a known standard normal rate or function of the normal rate at which a normal solution of cytosol malate dehydrogenase catalzes the reaction of oxaloacetate to malate, whereby the first rate or the first function of the first rate being substantially higher than the known standard normal rate or function of the normal rate indicated that the mammalian test tissue is neoplastic.

  • Patent number: 4543327
Abstract: A diagnostic method is disclosed, based on the automated kinetic determination of LD and MD isoenzymes in serum, which utilizes the comparison of two rates of LD and MD activity at different concentrations of substrate. It compares the first activity to the second concentration (activity) to obtain a ratio of activities relative to the two said activities with the first activity in the denominator and the second activity in the numerator and then determining the amount of MD activity enhancement (accelerated activity) by observing the ratio of measured MD activity.

  • Patent number: 4311791
Abstract: A diagnostic method is disclosed, based on the automated kinetic determination of LDH and MDH isoenzymes in serum, which utilizes the comparison of two rates of LDH and MDH activity at different concentrations of substrate. A step is eliminated from the procedure previously proposed, significantly improving the method. The method is based on the principle that the pure and hybrid forms of LDH and MDH isoenzymes differ in their affinities for and are inhibited to different extends by their substrate.
