  • Patent number: 7252873
Abstract: A method for forming a receiver transport member for an electrostatographic reproduction apparatus. The transport member transports receiver members with respect to a fuser assembly and is frictional coupled to a transfer member for driving the transfer member. The method for forming the transport member provides a substrate bearing a high friction layer that includes inorganic particles, with a compound of aluminum selected from the group consisting of aluminum hydroxide, alumina hydrate, aluminum oxide, pseudo-boehmite, boehmite alumina, aluminum salts, and mixtures thereof, dispersed in an organic binder so that the high friction layer is capable of preventing a loss of frictional coupling due to release oil applied to a receiver member bearing a fused toner image.

  • Patent number: 7120380
Abstract: An electrostatographic reproduction apparatus includes: a primary imaging member for producing an electrostatic latent image on a receiver, a development station for applying toner particles to the latent image to form a developed toner image on the receiver, a fuser assembly for fixing the developed toner image to form a fused toner image on the receiver, and a transport member for transporting the receiver to or from the fuser assembly. The transport member includes a substrate and an oil-absorbing layer that contains inorganic particles dispersed in an organic binder and is capable of absorbing release oil applied to the receiver bearing the fused toner image.

  • Patent number: 5084735
Abstract: A small particle toner image is formed on a primary image member, such as a photoconductor, and electrostatically transferred to an intermediate image member and then electrostatically transferred to a receiving sheet. The intermediate image member is chosen to have characteristics making the toner less attractive to the primary image member, but more attractive to the receiving sheet, than the intermediate. The intermediate transfer member can include a base of a relatively compliant material having a Young's modulus 10.sup.7 Newtons per square meter or less with a very thin outer skin of a harder material having a Young's modulus of 5.times.10.sup.7 Newtons per square meter or more.
