  • Publication number: 20070203111
Abstract: The invention relates to novel cyclohexylamine derivatives and their use in the treatment and/or prevention of central nervous system (CNS) disorders, such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and sleep disorder as well as methods for their synthesis. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing the compounds of the invention, as well as methods of inhibiting reuptake of endogenous monoamines, such as dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine from the synaptic cleft and methods of modulating one or more monoamine transporter.

  • Publication number: 20070197588
Abstract: The invention relates to novel tetralone based amines and their use in the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) disorders, such as depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Parkinson's disease. The invention further relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing the compounds and compositions of the invention as well as methods of inhibiting reuptake of one or more monoamine, such as such as dopamine and norepinephrine, from the synaptic cleft, and methods of modulating one or more monoamine transporter.

  • Publication number: 20060009902
Abstract: An electronic valve actuation system and control method is described. The valve timing is changed between early and late intake valve closing depending on engine operating conditions. Further, valve timing is adjusted to control engine airflow or engine torque. Finally, air-fuel ratio is adjusted based on feedback from an exhaust gas oxygen sensor as well as an estimate of air, fuel, and residual exhausted from cylinders operating with late valve closing (after bottom dead center) timing.

  • Patent number: 5609126
Abstract: An electronic engine controller operates to control the phase angle of a variable position camshaft. The engine controller receives signals indicative of engine coolant temperature, aircharge temperature, throttle position, engine speed and camshaft position, and generates a camshaft position signal to a variable camshaft control actuator to alter the phase angle of the camshaft with respect to the engine crankshaft. The engine controller contains two tables which contain cam phase angles. The first table contains a plurality of values indexed by engine speed and engine aircharge and the second table contains a plurality of values indexed by engine speed and throttle position. The engine controller generates the camshaft position signal in one of three manners depending on the mode of engine operation. In a first mode of engine operation the camshaft position signal is generated as a function of engine coolant temperature and aircharge temperature.

  • Patent number: 5357932
Abstract: The amount of fuel injected in an engine with variable cam timing is more accurately reflective of engine operating conditions by accounting for the phase angle of the camshaft relative to the crankshaft in the calculation of the cylinder air charge. The cam phase angle for the existing engine speed is sensed and used in the calculation of a manifold filling coefficient which modifies the leakage compensated air flow data obtained from a mass air flow meter. A predicted final cylinder air charge is calculated based on the modified air charge from the manifold filling model and the required fuel for a desired air/fuel ratio is based on the calculated cylinder air charge.

  • Patent number: 5088465
Abstract: This invention includes a method and apparatus for starting an internal combustion engine with a reduced starting time. That is, there is a reduced delay before the first combustion event occurs in the engine. Only a single engine position sensor is used. The method includes injecting fuel into a cylinder before true engine position is determined and applying an ignition pulse to the cylinder and firing the ignition coil after fuel has been injected into the cylinder. Advantageously, injecting fuel for the cylinder is done after determining the engine is turning and determining the engine has a rotational rate below a predetermined parameter.
