  • Patent number: 4995851
Abstract: A tensioning device is provided for selecting and imparting torsional bias to a shaft and simultaneously providing a shock absorbing mechanism, the device including a biasing disposed substantially within the shaft for imparting torsional bias to the shaft, a coupler rotationally fixing one end of the biasing strip to the shaft, and a hub member rotationally fixed to the other end of the biasing strip, the hub member being relatively rotatable with respect to the shaft and including a locking mechanism to lock the hub member to a stationary frame member when the desired torque has been reached.

  • Patent number: 4898272
Abstract: A conveyor belt support mechanism comprising a plurality of slider bars, each having multiple low friction wear surfaces with one wear surface in sliding engagement with the conveyor belt and an adjustment mechanism to compensate for wear to said wear surface by moving the slide bar closer to the conveyor belt as the wear surface wears, and a vertical support system for positioning said slider bars. When loads such as impact loads are placed on the conveyor belt, the slider bars support the conveyor belt and prevent the belt from sagging and stretching. As one wear surface of a slider bar becomes worn past an acceptable limit, the slider bar may be removed and repositioned so that a new wear surface engages the conveyor belt.

  • Patent number: 4825997
Abstract: A tensioning arrangement is provided to position belt cleaner blades relative to conveyor belt, which arrangement includes an inflatable bladder which acts to move a pivotally mounted crank, which, in turn, moves a support shaft, which carries the cleaner blades. Pressurization of the bladder causes it to expand thereby engaging the arm which moves the support shaft to a position at which the cleaner blades engage the belt to be cleaned.
