  • Patent number: 5836118
Abstract: A protective door jamb system integrally connected to a door frame. The door jamb system of the present invention includes both a door stop and jamb cladding each manufactured from an extruded plastic product such as hollow rigid plastic, cellular plastic, granular filled plastic or fiber filled plastic. The door stop and jamb clad are each designed to attach to a door jamb substrate through compression deflected fingers. The door jamb system of the present invention may also include a weather strip to ensure a weather-tight seal of a door when the door is closed into the frame. The jamb clad of the present invention covers the recessed portion of the door jamb substrate adjacent the jamb to completely cover the substrate and thereby increase both the structural and aesthetic integrity of the frame.

  • Patent number: 5174065
Abstract: A door sweep is integrally formed of synthetic resin with a generally planar body portion which is mounted on the bottom of the door and a face sealing portion along its one side. This includes a sealing element which extends upwardly from the body portion and has an inner surface adapted to bear against the surface of the door. A pivot arm on the inner face of the sealing element intermediate its length extends in the direction of the other side of the body portion. When the door sweep is moved against the bottom edge of the door, the pivot arm is pushed towards the body portion and the sealing element is pivoted against the face of the door. Sealing elements depending from the other face of the body portion provide a seal between the door and its sill.

  • Patent number: 5016700
Abstract: A garage door has a multiplicity of transversely extending panels with a preformed core of synthetic resin and integrally formed metallic front and rear skins of the same configuration but reversed. The front skin has its top edge portion configured with an inwardly and then upwardly extending wall portion to define a shelf-like recess adjacent the front face, a generally horizontal top wall portion and a depending lip portion. The bottom edge portion of the outer skin is configured with a generally U-shaped portion extending downwardly from the core and configured and dimensioned to be received within the shelf-like recess of the next lower panel, a generally horizontal portion, and an upwardly extending lip portion. The core has its top edge formed with a shelf-like recess adjacent its front face and a channel-like recess spaced rearwardly therefrom, and the bottom edge has a shelf-like recess adjacent its rear face and a channel-like recess spaced forwardly therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4748708
Abstract: A spike harrow tooth is fabricated by cold forming a metal blank which is provided from appropriate bar stock, the blank having a length for a single harrow tooth. The blank is placed in a first press, oriented with opposite edges of the square configuration aligned in the direction of press closing and opening. The first press is equipped with dies for displacing the metal at one end of the blank, by flattening the opposite edges to thereby displace the metal crosswise and form an enlarged head. Simultaneously, metal is displaced by dies in the first press from opposite side edges of the blank at the other end of the blank for partially forming a point with outwardly bulging excess portions. The partially formed blank then is placed in a second press equipped with dies for removing the outwardly bulging excess portions into waste chips.
