  • Publication number: 20010045145
Abstract: A tool comprising a handle and a plurality of tool members which is attachable to a keyring. The handle includes a plurality of recessed pockets and the tool members each include a different tool bit portion, such as a straight blade screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, a hexagonal wrench, and/or a starshaped wrench. The tool members are selectively movable between a stored position whereat the tool bit portion is stored within one of the plurality of recesses and an extended position whereat the tool bit portion is aligned with a longitudinal axis of the handle whereby the selected tool bit portion may used to perform a tooling task.

  • Patent number: 6112352
Abstract: A tool including a first member, a second member, and a connector pivotally connecting the members together. The first and second members are pivotal relative to each other to convert the tool between a closed condition whereat the members overlie each other and an extended condition whereat the members extend from each other. The first member and/or the second member includes a tooling component which may be used when the tool is in the extended condition. The tool having an exterior surface defined by the first member, the second member, and the pivotal connector when the tool is in the closed condition. The tool may be carried on a keyring along with a set of keys whereby it may be conveniently carried in a pocket or purse.

  • Patent number: 6109147
Abstract: A tool providing a plurality of tool bits, each having a different polygonal (i.e. hexagonal) external contour. The tool includes an inner member and an outer sleeve member. The inner member defines a small tool bit having a polygonal external contour. The outer sleeve member includes a cavity that selectively receives the inner member. The inner member and the outer sleeve member together define, when the inner member is received within the cavity, a large tool bit having a polygonal external contour of the same shape, but a larger size, than the inner tool bit. In this manner, the small tool bit may be used when the inner member is withdrawn from the cavity and the large tool bit may be used when the inner member is received within the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5491856
Abstract: A foldable multiple function tool is presented herein. The tool includes a pair of members each having a gripping jaw at one end thereof and a tang at the opposite end thereof. A first pivot member pivotally interconnects the members together for pivotal movement about a first axis intermediate the respective ends of the members for movement between a jaw closed position and a jaw open position with the pivotal movement being about a first axis. A pair of handles are connected to the tangs for pivotal movement about second and third pivot axes with each handle being pivotally displacable between a foldable position and an extended position. The handles are spaced apart by a distance sufficient that when the handles are in their folded positions they receive therebetween the gripping jaws, when in a closed position with each handle serving to block pivotal movement of one of the jaws toward a jaw open position.
