  • Publication number: 20080018001
Abstract: An evaporative cooler, including one or more media, distributes water from a source of water to each media through a constant flow valve. A distribution unit at each media includes a pair of spray bars for spraying water through two rows of uniformly spaced apertures disposed in each spray bar. A spray bar channel associated with each spray bar distributes the streams of water impinging thereupon from one row of apertures to the underlying media in specific locations. A distribution cap associated with each spray bar distributes streams of water impinging thereupon to the front and back edges of the underlying media. The water dripping from the media is drained. A fan or other air moving device draws air through the media to obtain cooled air resulting from evaporation of water flowing downwardly along the media.

  • Publication number: 20070241468
Abstract: A dew point cooling tower system utilizes cooled water produced by the system to reduces the wet bulb temperature of ambient air before the ambient air is directed through fill in the cooling tower. One preferred heat exchanger utilized in the cooling tower is an air-to-liquid heat exchanger comprising a plurality of spaced apart plate units each comprised of a pair of adhesively bonded spaced apart plates having a liquid flow channel formed intermediate the adhesively bonded plates.

  • Publication number: 20050012230
Abstract: An evaporative cooler, including one or more media modules, distributes water from a source of water to each module through a constant flow valve. A distribution unit at each media module includes a spray bar for spraying water through a plurality of uniformly spaced holes having an aggregate area equivalent to or less than twenty five percent (25%) of the internal cross sectional area of the spray bar. A distribution cap distributes the streams of water to the underlying media module(s) and the water dripping from the media module(s) is drained. A fan or other air moving device draws air through the media module(s) to obtain cooled air resulting from evaporation of water flowing downwardly along the media module(s).
