  • Patent number: 10471265
Abstract: A anchor for an implantable medical device includes an anchor body and a locking member. The anchor body includes a first trough extending along a first axis. The locking member is coupled to the anchor body and rotates with respect to a second axis, between an unlocked position and a locked position. The locking member includes protruding members that define a second trough aligned with the first trough when the locking member is rotated to the unlocked position, so as to form an open path for the implantable medical device to move through the first and second troughs. When the locking member is rotated to the locked position, the protruding members block at least a portion of the first trough to define a tortuous path between the first trough and the second trough so as to restrict a movement of the implantable medical device through the first and second troughs.

  • Patent number: 8958891
Abstract: A reinforced suture sleeve designed to cover and protect a medical lead from physical damage resulting from an over tightened suture is described. The reinforced suture sleeve comprises a metallic tubular insert with at least one slot that cut through the surface of the insert in a spiraled pattern. A biocompatible and pliable polymeric body is molded over the insert. The spiraled cut slot in the metallic tubular insert provides flexibility without degrading structural integrity. An alternate embodiment comprises a polymeric body provided with an embedded fiber mesh made of polymeric fibers, metallic fibers or combinations thereof. The fiber mesh prevents an over tightened suture from cutting through the suture sleeve and damaging the medical lead.

  • Publication number: 20070203715
Abstract: A method and means of registering for a debit card includes a card having an account number that is the same as an account number encoded on a magnetic strip of the card. Removably attached to the card is a first and a second label. The first label has the account number printed thereon and a designated area where customer information is filled in. The second label has an authorization code such as a PIN number printed thereon. Both the account number and PIN number are stored in a database maintained by a service provider. To register, the first label is removed from the card and attached to a customer's check and the second label is removed and retained by the customer. The check is scanned and transmitted to the service provider. The service provider compares the account number on the first label of the scanned check with the stored PIN number and creates a debit card account for the customer associated with the customer's checking account.

  • Publication number: 20070073622
Abstract: A method of preventing identity theft where a personal document control number is assigned and printed on the document when the document is manufactured. The personal document control number is stored in an electronic file and transmitted to the database of a remote, independent, third party service provider. The document is distributed to a user who presents the document at the point of encashment/presentment and provides the personal document control number. The merchant/acceptor at the point of encashment/presentment contacts the service provider who validates or invalidates the transaction.
