Abstract: A method and system for diagnosing synchronization offsets in IPTV program signals includes generating audio counter values for audio packets and video counter values for video packets, such that synchronized audio packets and video packets have corresponding counter values. The correspondence may be fixed or may be a variable relationship during the IPTV program duration. The difference in arrival times of the audio and video packets may be measured at various IPTV network nodes, and compared to the IPTV program clock. Aberrant values for arrival times may result in a network synchronization alarm at an identified IPTV network node.

Abstract: A method includes receiving digital audio data at an audio adjustment system. The method includes converting a portion of the digital audio data to an analog audio signal with a digital-to-analog converter of the audio adjustment system to form a sample analog audio signal. The method includes determining a dynamic range of the sample analog audio signal with the audio adjustment system. The method also includes modifying a metadata parameter of the digital audio data with the audio adjustment system when the dynamic range of the sample analog audio signal is below a threshold. The metadata parameter is a dialog normalization parameter.

Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a media distribution device having a support structure adapted for removably receiving a server module, a plurality of encoders, and an Internet Protocol (IP) router module; and a bus adapted for placing the server module, the plurality of video encoders, and the IP router module in communication with each other, where the server module is adapted to receive media content, where the plurality of video encoders is adapted to generate a plurality of encoded media contents from the media content and the video encoders generate the encoded media contents in temporal proximity to each other, where the IP router module is adapted to distribute the plurality of encoded media contents over an IP network. The controller is adapted to generate an emission mask based on the monitored spectral characteristics and detect interference between the target channel and at least one of the first and second channels based at least in part on the emission mask. The system includes but is not limited to a processor in data communication with a computer readable medium; and a computer program embedded in the computer readable medium, the computer program comprising instructions to monitor video data for advertising key data, instructions to monitor end user data exchanged between end user devices for the advertising key data, instructions to receive data from an end user device indicating a product selected from a selected data segment in the video data and instructions to send advertising data relating to key data in the selected data segment to the end user device. The computer program product executes a computer program to perform the method.

Abstract: A welding hood is provided with a periscopic view piece to provide an elevated effective line of sight for viewing over and around objects during welding operations. The welding hood includes a face mask and a head band or other support which supports and positions the mask on the welder's head. A view piece includes an objective window which is normally tinted or filtered to protect the welder's eyes from brilliant light, a first mirror behind the objective window, and a second, lower mirror oriented to reflect the image passing through the objective window and reflected by the first mirror to the second mirror along the welder's unaided line of sight.
