Patent number: 8042475Abstract: A table may include a table top, a frame and one or more legs that may be movable between extended and collapsed positions relative to the table top. Advantageously, the table top may include a generally planar upper surface and a generally planar lower surface. The lower surface of the table top, however, may include a first lip disposed proximate a first end of the table top and a second lip disposed proximate a second end of the table top. The lower surface may also include mounting members that are sized and configured to allow a frame to be connected to the table top. Desirably, the mounting members allow side rails of a frame to be attached to the table top and at least a portion of the side rails are disposed between the first and second lips. This may allow at least a portion of the frame to be exposed and visible when the table is being used.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 2008Date of Patent: October 25, 2011Assignee: Lifetime Products, IncInventors: Larry Larcom, Ju-Young Jin

Patent number: 7975625Abstract: A table may include a table top and at least one leg assembly. The table top may include a first table top section and a second table top section. The table top sections may be movable between a first position in which the table top sections are generally aligned and a second position in which the table top sections are at an angle. The leg assembly may be movable between an extended position and a collapsed position relative to the table top. The leg assembly may include a first support structure and a second support structure. The support structures may be movable between a generally aligned position and an angled position when the leg assembly is in the extended position. Moving the support structures to the angled position may help retain the leg assembly in the extended position. Moving the table top sections to the second position may help retain the support structures in the angled position and thus further help retain the leg assembly in the extended position.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2008Date of Patent: July 12, 2011Assignee: Lifetime Products, Inc.Inventors: Katie Staples Topham, Jay Calkin, Larry Larcom, Paul Branch

Patent number: 7757617Abstract: A table may include a table top with first and second sections that are connected by a hinge to allow the section to move between a folded position and an unfolded position. The table may also include legs that are movable between a use position and a storage position relative to the table top. The hinge may facilitate folding of the table top when the legs are in the storage position. On the other hand, the hinge may resist folding of the table top when the legs are in the extended position. In addition, the table may include components that expand and/or contract in different fashions in response to changes in temperature. For example, the table top and the frame may be constructed from different materials with different coefficients of expansion in response to temperature changes. The table is preferably sized and configured to accommodate these differences in expansion and contraction.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2008Date of Patent: July 20, 2010Assignee: Lifetime Products, Inc.Inventors: Larry Larcom, David C. Winter, Joel Bennett

Patent number: 6189901Abstract: A compact, trailing, auxiliary axle system is attached to a truck for carrying additional weight and distributing the weight of the truck over a greater number of axles and a greater maximum total distance of distribution of those axles. The apparatus is attached high, and may be secured to the body of a truck, such as a refuse truck, reducing the total length of extension from the rear of the truck, yet pivoting from a comparatively high position for easy stowage above the bubble or bulkhead protruding from the tailgate of a truck. Hydraulic actuation relies on pulling, during deployment, providing improved resistance to buckling, protection from road damage, with short coupling for improved strength of booms, hydraulics, and cross members. Conduits may carry control and power through the frame of the assembly, and conventional suspension components may be used.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1998Date of Patent: February 20, 2001Assignee: F. S. New Products Inc.Inventors: Fred P. Smith, Larry Larcom
