Abstract: A needle cover including: a mounting portion for mounting a needle; and a lid portion hingedly connected to the mounting portion, the lid portion movable to: an open position; a first cover position, wherein the lid portion is releasably docked with the mounting portion; and a second cover position, wherein the lid portion is irreversibly docked with the mounting portion, wherein the mounting portion and the lid portion include corresponding docking elements that engage to provide the first and second cover positions.

Abstract: A safety clip for a needle, the safety clip having a hinge operably connected between an attachment collar and an elongate sheath. The attachment collar includes one or more slots containing retaining members. The elongate sheath includes one or more mushroom shaped projections which extend from a remote end of the elongate sheath and are insertable into the slots and engage with the retaining members, such that the elongate sheath, when the safety clip is secured by its attachment collar to a syringe hub, can be pivoted about the hinge between a first position in which the needle is exposed, and a second position in which at least a tip of the needle is sheathed by the elongate sheath. The retaining members are shaped to prevent the mushroom shaped projections from being removed from their engagement with the retaining members, thereby providing a permanent and secure lock therebetween.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a safety clip for needles. The present invention is adapted for Incorporation as a standalone item, or integrated with a needle, or with a needle and syringe. The standalone safety clip (10) is comprised of an attachment collar (20), elongate sheath (30) and hinge (40). The attachment collar (20) has a central aperture (60) for attaching the hub of a syringe or the collar of a needle base.
