  • Patent number: 4254964
Abstract: A simple and inexpensive to manufacture two piece sled which can be folded for storage and which has a single front steerable runner is disclosed. According to this invention, readily available steel tubing is bent and welded to form a back unit having two runners secured by support members. A deck for sitting or carrying a load is secured to the support members. In a similar manner, steel tubing is also bent and welded to form a single runner front unit which also has a deck. The single runner can be steered by handles also formed of the steel tubing. The front unit and the back unit are then joined at two pivotpoints such that the two units will fold together into a compact unit for storage.
