  • Patent number: 9112322
Abstract: An electrical connector having a body, first and second female interfaces, a female connector, one to four side interfaces and a connecting pin. The body has a longitudinal axis with a passage extending between the first and second female interfaces. The side interfaces extend from the body and are substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The interfaces have a distal end and a bus electrically connected to the female connector. The ends of the connecting pin are adapted to snugly engage louver-type connectors on male interfaces, which are inserted into the first and second female interfaces. The electrical connector is designed to minimize the distance between the first and second ends of the body. The side interfaces of the electrical connector can be designed to accommodate different high voltage connectors.

  • Patent number: 7758367
Abstract: A seating indicator for loadbreak connectors and deadbreak connectors that includes a substantially round, elastic O-ring having a body and an opening, wherein the O-ring is installed on the transition shoulder portion of a loadbreak bushing insert, and wherein the O-ring extends radially and outwardly from the bushing insert when an elbow connector is properly installed thereon. The O-ring can be hollow so that it will more easily deform and can be made from an elastomeric material in easily viewable colors.

  • Patent number: 7726998
Abstract: A high voltage electrical connector that includes a male interconnect, a female interconnect and a locking pin assembly. The male interconnect includes a contact pin with a locking groove and the female interconnect includes a socket with an axial bore, a transverse passage and an opening connecting the bore to the passage. The locking pin assembly is installed in the passage and has a recessed section and a cylindrical section. The locking pin assembly is movable between a first position, wherein the bore is unobstructed and the contact pin can be freely inserted and removed, and a second position, wherein the cylindrical section of the locking pin extends into the bore. After the contact pin is inserted in the bore and the locking groove aligned with the opening, the locking pin assembly is moved from the first position to the second position and secures the contact pin in the socket.

  • Patent number: 7520773
Abstract: A flap seating indicator for loadbreak and deadbreak connectors that include a substantially round ring-shaped body and a plurality of flaps located around the circumference of the body and extending from one of the side edges. Each of the plurality of flaps has a first section that attaches to the body and is pivotably connected to a second section that has an indicating surface. The seating indicator is attached to an inner surface of an elbow cuff lip on an elbow connector. When a bushing insert is properly inserted into the elbow connector, the second section of each of the plurality of flaps pivots so that the indicating surfaces of the flaps face the elbow connector.

  • Publication number: 20080166913
Abstract: A view portal seating indicators for loadbreak and deadbreak connectors that includes: an elbow connector with an elbow cuff having an extended portion at the end and a plurality of openings located circumferentially on the extended portion; and a bushing insert having a mid-section and an indicating band extending around a portion of the midsection. Proper insertion of a bushing insert into the elbow connector permits the indicating band to be viewed through the openings and indicates that the connection is properly made. In another embodiment the openings are notches located at the end of the extended portion. Proper insertion of a bushing insert into the elbow connector permits the indicating band to be viewed through the notches and indicates that the connection is properly made.
