  • Patent number: 11019955
Abstract: A kitchen appliance for preparing beverage comprises a housing, a basket holder in cooperative engagement with the housing, a filter basket selectively insertable into the basket holder when the basket holder is in an open position, and a ground coffee hopper for holding ground coffee. The hopper is positioned to dispense a desired amount of ground coffee into the filter basket when (i) the hopper is selectively mounted to the housing, (ii) the filter basket is inserted into the basket holder, and (iii) the basket holder is in its closed position. The bottom portion comprises a selectively rotatable doser defining a plurality of dosing cavities. Each dosing cavity is adapted to contain a same, predetermined amount of ground coffee and adapted to dispense the contained ground coffee through a dispensing hole defined in the bottom portion as each dosing cavity is rotated into a position above the dispensing hole.

  • Publication number: 20140108981
Abstract: A current focus element that has focus is identified from a plurality of focus elements in a user interface. User input corresponding to a navigation direction is received, and a rank is assigned to each of a plurality of eligible focus elements according to a focus algorithm. The focus algorithm may include a plurality of weight factors that are based on the navigation direction and the positions of eligible focus elements relative to a position of the current focus element. Focus is switched from the current focus element to a target focus element, which is selected from the plurality of eligible focus elements based on a rank of the target focus element.

  • Patent number: 7152467
Abstract: A parallel seismic tester utilizing a cone penetrometer to test the depth of a foundation or the like comprises three important elements: the cone penetrometer which houses a receiver, an impactor to impact the structure, and data gathering and analyzing equipment. The receiver may comprise a hydrophone, a geophone, or accelerometers. In the case where the receiver is a hydrophone, the hydrophone is embedded in a plastic, water filled container within the cone penetrometer head, and the head retracts prior to running tests.

  • Patent number: 6370445
Abstract: A system controls a package assembly line. The package assembly line has a piece feeder and a component feeder. The piece feeder is arranged to feed pieces to a transport of the package assembly line. The component feeder is arranged to feed components to the transport of the package assembly line so that the components and the pieces are combined into packages. The components have corresponding component identifiers thereon. The system includes a memory for storing a piece data file having piece identifiers corresponding to pieces fed by the piece feeder, a detector for detecting a component identifier from a component being fed by the component feeder toward the transport, a comparator for comparing the detected component identifier to a corresponding piece identifier, and in response to the comparison controlling the feeding of a component or rejecting a component.
