Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method of reductively bleaching a mineral slurry comprising adding in the mineral slurry an effective amount of a formamidine sulfinic acid (FAS) and an effective amount of a borohydride to reductively bleach the mineral slurry, compositions comprising a mineral slurry, a FAS, and a borohydride, and final products comprising a mineral obtained by the method disclosed herein.

Abstract: A clip device and a method for clamping together in bundled form a plurality of sinuous wires, wherein the clip device is formed from a single continuous piece of wire having a generally U-shaped configuration with an open end and a closed end, the closed end forming a base portion and the open end being formed by a pair of legs extending away from the base portion with each said leg having an end portion bending inwardly toward the base portion to form a pair of hooks, and the method comprising the steps of: (a) gathering a plurality of sinuous wires into a bundle; (b) compressing the bundle; (c) aligning the loops in the bundle; (d) installing the clip device; (e) stacking a clamped bundle on a pallet; (f) heating the stacked, clamped bundles in an oven; and (g) packaging the clamped bundles.

Abstract: A calibration method and apparatus capable of being calibrated according to the method that allows a remote sensor to be transferred from analyzing instrument to analyzing instrument within a group of analyzing instruments without the need to recalibrate. The device includes a separate memory capability associated with the sensor as well as each instrument while the method requires the use of an arbitrarily selected sensor to initially be transferred from instrument to instrument, while being subjected to the same calibration standards in order to generate calibration data for entry into each instrument's memory. With such data entered in the instruments' memories, any remote sensor, calibrated on any one instrument and having such calibration data stored in its own memory, can then readily be interconnected to any instrument of the group to immediately yield accurate results.
