Abstract: An automotive security system features a carjacking prevention mode. In addition to performing typical security functions of an automotive alarm, the system allows the user to initiate the system on a delayed basis by manipulating a hidden floor switch or a remote paging device. When the system is activated, it begins flashing the light and activating the horns on an intermittent basis prior to disabling the vehicle, thereby giving the carjacker time to safely pull over. An audible verbal warning may alert the driver the vehicle is about to be disabled.
