  • Patent number: 9298279
Abstract: A cursor control device having a light source and an image sensor for optically tracking motion. The device includes an upwardly facing dome or window that provides a visual and tactile interface for user interaction. The user's hand or finger, bare or gloved, or other object controlled by the user, can be moved in close proximity or touching the dome, and means are provided to discriminate against the motion of objects that are not close to the dome in order to prevent unwanted cursor motion. Said means can include optics having a limited depth of focus, adaptive illumination processing for controlling the intensity of light emitted from the light source to optimize sensor operation, and/or processing for projecting cursor motion in accordance with a detected level of confidence in the sensor data.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 17, 2010
Date of Patent: March 29, 2016
    Assignee: Itac Systems, Inc.
Inventors: Donald P. Bynum, Gregory A. Magel, Robert Leo Dawes, Larry V. Moore, Minhaj Ahmed

  • Patent number: 7825895
Abstract: A method of moving the cursor is used in a computer system having a processor operatively coupled to a cursor control device having a light source and an image sensor for optically tracking motion of the cursor control device. The method is executed to move the cursor according to an enhanced tracking value generated based on a measured tracking value, a projected tracking value, and a tracking confidence value based on an illumination value representative of an intensity of light sensed by the sensor.

  • Patent number: 5175395
Abstract: An electromagnetic shield for components mounted to a printed circuit board includes an electrically conductive wall for interconnection to the printed circuit board for generally surrounding the components. The wall includes a top edge. The wall is disposed generally perpendicular to the printed circuit board. An electrically conductive cover for covering the area surrounded by the wall includes a top portion disposed generally parallel to the printed circuit board and a flange disposed generally parallel to the wall. The top portion of the cover includes a plurality of spaced apart springs disposed along the periphery of the cover for selectively engaging the top edge of the wall when the cover is positioned to enclose the area surrounded by the wall.

  • Patent number: 4678252
Abstract: An electrical connector and an apparatus for providing staging of electrical connections between a motherboard and a daughterboard is disclosed. An angled insulator having first and second legs forms a pie-shaped cavity for receiving one edge of a printed circuit board. The first leg forms a fulcrum about which the printed circuit board is rotated until it abuts an alignment surface of an electrically insulating stiffener formed in the second leg. A second connector is used for providing staging of electrical connections. Protective end caps prevent the insertion of a printed circuit board until it is properly aligned.

  • Patent number: 4552391
Abstract: A portable enclosure for housing test equipment to test circuitry in a card cage rack employs a combined latch and support system which includes a bracket member retained in the enclosure and movable through an aperture in the enclosure to an extended position for attaching the enclosure to the card cage rack. The bracket member is movable back through the aperture to a retracted position within the enclosure to latch the enclosure closed.
