  • Patent number: 7686346
Abstract: An improved coupling, such as a transition tee coupling, is described having press-connect fittings on the ends and a push-connect fitting on the outlet. The improved transition tee coupling is formed using a reduced-outlet tee having press-connect fittings on all three sockets. An unfinished end of a tailpiece having a push-connect fitting on the opposite end is inserted into the outlet socket of the press-connect tee. The press-connect fitting of the outlet tee is crimped using a special press tool jaw that does not damage the push fitting on the tailpiece.

  • Patent number: 7435193
Abstract: The retrieval device for tethered articles is a portable, compact device well suited for use by solo players practicing various aspects of sports. For example, the device may be used by a football kicker to retrieve a tethered ball after each kick, thereby saving the player considerable time in retrieval efforts and precluding the need for a second person to return the ball. The device may also be used by baseball or softball players for pitching, batting, and/or throwing practice, soccer players, etc. as desired. The device may also be used to retrieve articles other than sports balls. The device includes an electrically powered reel which allows the tether line to pay out with virtually no restriction when the electrical circuit is inactive, but which engages a retrieval reel when activated. Automatic and emergency stop switches are also provided. The device is preferably powered by one or more rechargeable batteries.

  • Patent number: 5772021
Abstract: Apparatus and method for packaging and storing a compact disc. A central hub, comprised of a number of deformable segments, is provided to penetrate the central aperture of a compact disc. Around the outside perimeter of the central hub, which has a circular shape, is at least one detachable or inwardly deformable retaining hook. A compact disc is initially secured to the central hub by pressing the compact disc against the central hub and thereby moving the deformable segments inward. The compact disc mounts onto, and is retained by, the central hub after the compact disc has passed the retaining hooks. Passing the retaining hooks allows the deformable segments to snap back into their original position and allows the retaining hooks to hold the compact disc to the central hub. The compact disc is removed by pulling the compact disc away from the central hub with enough force to break the retaining hooks away from the deformable segments or inwardly deform the retaining hooks.

  • Patent number: 5415774
Abstract: A water filtration device is disclosed which, in one aspect, has a hollow device body with filter apparatus therein. The device body is removably nested in a device extender which, upon removal from the device body is invertible and re-emplaceable on the device body to provide an extended member for facilitating the scooping water to be flowed through the device. With appropriate filter media in the hollow device body, potable water is produced. A system is disclosed including the device body, device extender, and a water container securable beneath the device body to receive and store the purified water flowing from the device body.
