Patent number: 8428754Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for controlling an electrical device are provided. At least one image of at least one moving entity is processed to determine when the moving entity (or entities) is at least one of entering and exiting a monitored area, and to determine when the moving entity (or entities) comprises at least one triggering shape. When the moving entity (or entities), comprising at least one triggering shape, is at least one of entering and exiting the monitored area, control of the electrical device is triggered and a counter for counting triggering shapes present in the monitored area is triggered. When the moving entity (or entities), comprising at least one triggering shape, exits the monitored area, the counter decrements by the number of triggering shapes and the electrical device is triggered to a state different from a present state when the counter falls below a threshold number.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2011Date of Patent: April 23, 2013Inventor: Larry Wong

Patent number: 8108055Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for controlling an electrical device are provided. At least one image of at least one moving entity is processed, for determining if the at least one moving entity is at least one of entering and exiting a monitored area, and for determining if the at least one moving entity comprises at least one triggering shape. If the at least one moving entity is determined to be at least one of entering and exiting the monitored area, and the at least one moving entity comprises the at least one triggering shape, then control of the electrical device is triggered and a counter for counting triggering shapes present in the monitored area is triggered.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2007Date of Patent: January 31, 2012Inventor: Larry Wong

Publication number: 20040148520Abstract: Service attacks, such as denial of service and distributed denial of service attacks, of a customer network are detected and subsequently mitigated by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) that services the customer network. A sensor examines the traffic entering the customer network for attack traffic. When an attack is detected, the sensor notifies an analysis engine within the ISP network to mitigate the attack. The analysis engine configures a filter router to advertise new routing information to the border and edge routers of the ISP network. The new routing information instructs the border and edge routers to reroute attack traffic and non-attack traffic destined for the customer network to the filter router. At the filter router, the attack traffic and non-attack traffic are automatically filtered to remove the attack traffic. The non-attack traffic is passed back onto the ISP network for routing towards the customer network.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2003Publication date: July 29, 2004Inventors: Rajesh Talpade, Sunil Madhani, Petros Mouchtaris, Larry Wong

Patent number: 5554554Abstract: The present invention provides a method of forming a first load having a first resistance level and a second load having a second resistance level in a common layer of polysilicon. In accordance with the method, a layer of polysilicon having a first resistance level is formed on a semiconductor circuit structure. A mask is then formed on the polysilicon layer to define areas of the polysilicon to be implanted with a dopant. The dopant is then implanted into the defined areas of the polysilicon to modify these areas to have a second resistance level. Selected areas of the polysilicon layer are then etched away to form first load regions having the first resistance level and second load regions having the second resistance level.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1994Date of Patent: September 10, 1996Assignee: National Semiconductor CorporationInventors: Bamdad Bastani, Larry Wong
