  • Publication number: 20240009371
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems for cutting anatomic members with minimally invasive endoscopic ultrasound are described. A disposable cutting handpiece and cassette can be attached to a reusable main console for the procedure and then separated to be discarded and/or analyzed. The handpiece may include a power line, aspiration, and/or irrigation. The cassette may contain one or more pumps and an electronic connection that interfaces with a console deliver power to the handpiece, and optionally to identify characteristics such as probe and/or handpiece type. The cassette may further include sensors, a sensor interface, and/or a flow correction circuit for reducing unwanted flow blockages or vacuum.

  • Patent number: 8500798
Abstract: A two-stage or component-based valve prosthesis that can be quickly and easily implanted during a surgical procedure is provided. The prosthetic valve comprises a support structure that is deployed at a treatment site. The prosthetic valve further comprises a valve member configured to be quickly connected to the support structure. The support structure may take the form of a stent that is expanded at the site of a native valve. If desired, the native leaflets may remain and the stent may be used to hold the native valve open. In this case, the stent may be balloon expandable and configured to resist the powerful recoil force of the native leaflets. The support structure is provided with a coupling means for attachment to the valve member, thereby fixing the position of the valve member in the body. The valve member may be a non-expandable type, or may be expandable from a compressed state to an expanded state.

  • Publication number: 20070017448
Abstract: A system is provided herein for monitoring the quality of milk which is stored at a dairy facility comprising sensors, e.g., analog and/or digital sensors that are installed on equipment on a dairy farm. Such sensors report information through a communication device that sends the information, e.g., over wire-line or wireless telephony to a network operations center. The network operation center includes resident software which is programmed to interpret that information. Then, the software firstly determines whether the dairy farm operator needs to receive an alert or informational message via telephone or any other electronic communications device suggesting that the operator take appropriate action. Secondly, if necessary, the software then presents the alert and sensor information on a customized secure web site that the operator can access to review the information and prepare the compliance reporting for, e.g., HACCP-type activities.

  • Publication number: 20060156315
Abstract: A client program in a client/server relationship receives commands creating a specific implementation of graphical user interface (GUI) components and receives any data to be displayed in the interface components from the server program. As the end user interacts with the client, the client returns events and data to the server for processing. The commands and events constitute a protocol, published via an API. The transmission of commands events between the client and server is accomplished without linking the programs. The specific GUI implementation is specified by the server application and revealed to the client only at run time.

  • Publication number: 20050284097
Abstract: System and method for localizing a zone wherein wall modules, terminator support modules, column modules and spanner modules are arranged to define one or more zone boundaries. The modules are structured as polymeric shells. The wall modules and terminator support modules are configured with integrally formed tongue-and-groove joints and when used with outdoor zones may be filled with a ballast such as a liquid. The columns are configured with receptor cavities at their tops to receive roof-defining canopy structures, sight simulators and the like.

  • Publication number: 20020023527
Abstract: A guide for the blade of a band saw providing support for the rear edge and sides of the blade. The guide utilizes two cylindrical rings or anvils that may be adjusted to contact the sides of the blade. A rotating spool within the anvils provides the support for the rear edge of the blade. The spool may be easily adjusted to provide support for blades of varying depth. The entire guide may be mounted on the guide arm of most band saw blades and pivoted into position through the use of an adjustable saddle.

  • Patent number: 6012185
Abstract: A pair of stackable, nestable blocks for elevating the leg of a bed to a plurality of selectable heights employs first and second blocks that each have upper and lower ends, with recesses being provided in at least one of the ends of each block that can be oriented upwardly to receive and support the foot or lower end region of a bed leg. Each block has a different length, which enables each block, used separately, to support the bed leg at a different height. Recesses of differing depths preferably are provided in opposite ends of at least one of the blocks, whereby the block or blocks that have dual-depth recesses can be inverted to provide bed leg support at two different heights. One of the two blocks preferably has a larger size than the other and is provided with recess(es) large enough to receive and support one or both of the end regions of the other of the blocks, whereby the smaller-size block can be stacked and nested atop the larger-size block to provide still more bed leg elevation heights.
