  • Patent number: 9933101
Abstract: A valve and a method for making the valve, the valve including a valve housing with a central part and with two connection ends, wherein internally of the central part there is arranged a valve body in a valve seat and connected to a valve spindle that is arranged in a spindle guide stub on the valve housing. The method includes a tubular workpiece being provided with a cutout, a plate-shaped workpiece being provided that is plastically deformed to form a collar on it whereby a spindle guide stub is formed with a collar along its lower edge and a cutout in its upper surface. The spindle guide stub is laser welded on the tubular workpiece providing an internal welding seam running along the edge of the inner opening in the collar of the spindle guide stub, along the cutout and at the outer side of the tubular workpiece.

  • Publication number: 20160356263
Abstract: A bulkhead assembly for a wind turbine blade is described, where the bulkhead is substantially formed from a flexible sheet material. In one aspect, the flexible sheet material can be attached to the larger assembly using a releasable connection, e.g. a zipped connection, to allow for relatively easy installation and removal, e.g. for repair or other service operations. At least a portion of the sheet material may be transparent, to allow for easy inspection of the interior of the wind turbine blade. In one aspect, the bulkhead assembly is arranged to couple to, or is formed integrally with, the root flange of a wind turbine blade. The use of such a flexible material to form the blade root end bulkhead allows for ease of handling and manufacturability over prior art systems.

  • Publication number: 20160222481
Abstract: A method and a system for stress-relieving annealing one or more first parts of a workpiece, wherein a second part of the workpiece contains heat-sensitive parts. A cooling jacket is placed around the part of the workpiece surrounding heat-sensitive parts such that the part{s) to be annealed are located outside the cooling jacket. The first part(s) are then heated individually by induction up to the annealing temperature of the material in a first annealing zone in the system while simultaneously cooling the second part of the workpiece located in the cooling jacket. After annealing, the workpiece is cooled in a cooling zone, as annealing and cooling of the workpiece occurs under a protecting atmosphere. The annealed workpiece is, e.g., connection ends on a valve housing where the connection ends are shaped by plastic deformation after mounting valve seats, valve body etc. in the central part of the valve housing.

  • Publication number: 20060240426
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of predicting the prognosis of a biological condition in animal tissue, wherein the expression of genes is examined and correlated to standards. The invention further relates to the treatment of the biological condition and. an assay for predicting the prognosis. In particular, the invention concerns gene expression in epithelial tissue, such as urinary bladder under both normal and abnormal conditions.

  • Patent number: 6966580
Abstract: A device for allowing adjustment of the angular position of a steering member, like a steering wheel in a vehicle. An upper portion of the device is connected to the steering member. A lower portion is supported in the vehicle. A connection between the upper and lower portions permits pivoting of the upper portion along a curved path with respect to the lower portion, enabling adjustment of the steering member to a plurality of angular positions relative to the lower portion. The center of curvature of the curved path is located between the steering member and the driver in the approximate vicinity of the wrist of the driver.

  • Publication number: 20050180854
Abstract: The invention relates to a wind turbine blade and a transitional shell blank for the manufacture of the shell of a wind turbine blade, the blade or the transitional shell blank being made of fibre-reinforced polymer including a first type of fibres (1, 3, 6) of a first stiffness and a first elongation at breakage, and a second type of fibres (2, 5, 7) of a different stiffness and a different elongation at breakage. According to the invention the two types of fibres are distributed in the polymer matrix. When seen in a sectional view perpendicular to longitudinal direction of the blade or the transitional shell blank, the quantitative ratio of the two types of fibres varies continuously in the longitudinal direction of the blade or of the transition shell blank.
