  • Publication number: 20070202961
Abstract: A device is provided to assist a golfer in keeping the golf grip of their clubs dry if they are compelled to lay a club on the ground. In particular, a disk-like member is adapted to be received on the shaft of a golf club in such a way that when the golf club is laid down on the ground, the disk-like member prevents the golf grip from contacting the ground, and thereby helps to keep the grip dry.

  • Patent number: 6939051
Abstract: A bearing arrangement supporting a sealing bellows around a shaft to permit axial and angular motion includes inner and outer bearing sleeves, and a rolling bearing having an inner race ring fitted around the inner sleeve with one end face engaging a shoulder in the inner sleeve. A sealing device is provided in a space between the inner and outer sleeves. A flexible elongated bellows for enclosing a portion of the shaft is sealingly connected at one end to the outer surface of the outer sleeve and is attachable at its opposite end to a fitting of a machine member from which the shaft projects. The outer sleeve is a sheet metal sleeve provided with an inwardly bent flange portion forming an engagement surface for the opposite side face of the rolling bearing. The bellows is fixedly attachable to the outer surface of the outer sleeve by bonding through vulcanization.

  • Publication number: 20040101220
Abstract: A bearing arrangement for supporting a sealing bellows around a shaft in a manner permitting axial and angular motion, and incorporating a first, inner bearing sleeve (3), a standard rolling bearing (2) fitted with its inner race ring around said first sleeve (3) and with one end face engaging a shoulder (4) in the inner sleeve (3), and a second, outer bearing sleeve (7), sealing means provided in a space between said first and second bearing sleeves (3, 7), beside the rolling bearing, and a flexible, elongated bellows (12) intended to enclose a portion of a shaft (1) and sealingly connected at one of its ends to the outer envelope surface of the second, outer bearing sleeve (7), and having means (16, 18) for attachment of its opposite end to a fitting (14) of a machine member (15) from which the shaft (1) projects, wherein the second, outer bearing sleeve (7) is a sheet metal sleeve provided with an inwardly bent flange portion (8), forming an engagement surface for the opposite side face of the rolling bear

  • Patent number: 6623166
Abstract: A precision spindle unit for low friction performance includes a tubular housing surrounding a shaft, and first and second rolling bearings mounted on the shaft within the housing. The first bearing is axially arrested between the flange of a locking washer fixed to the shaft and a shoulder on the shaft. A second locking washer is fitted to the shaft, and a resilient member is provided between the second locking washer and a side of the inner race ring of the second bearing. The axially inwardly facing side of the outer race ring of the second bearing engages an inwardly projecting shoulder in the housing, with the second bearing being biased between the resilient member and the inwardly projecting shoulder. The locking washers define a slot seal at each axial end of the housing to provide a seal at the outwardly facing sides of the first and second bearings.

  • Patent number: 6588693
Abstract: A fishing reel includes a spool rotatably supported in a bearing arrangement on a spindle unit. The spindle unit is a held-together unit incorporating an elongated spindle and a bearing housing supported on the spindle by at least two spaced apart rolling bearings. Annular end washers on the spindle shield off the interior of the housing from the surrounding environment via a small slot acting as a seal. The housing has at least one exterior radially extending shoulder and the spool has at least one internal projection intended to engage the shoulder of the housing to define the axial position of the spool relative to the bearings while also taking up axial load in one direction. A resilient member between the bearing housing and the spool gives play-free contact between the housing and the spool and gives a pretension of the spindle unit against the shoulder of the housing.
