  • Patent number: 7594567
Abstract: A protection device (10) in a disk brake arrangement for protecting a brake disk (12) from dirt particles. The protection device at least partly surrounds the brake disk (12), and the protection device (10) includes at least one protection assembly (13) that is mounted on the wheel suspension (11) and consists at least partly of a material of which the shape is influenced by heat. The protection assembly has a first end position which prevents dirt particles and relative wind from striking the brake disk directly and a second end position which allows relative wind to strike the brake disk directly so as thus to obtain cooling of the brake disk. The first end position occurs when the temperature of the protection assembly lies below a first temperature and the second end position occurs when the temperature of the protection assembly exceeds a second temperature.

  • Publication number: 20090200122
Abstract: A sliding arrangement for a disk brake includes a caliper adapted to engage a brake disk, and a first and a second support bearing for fixing the caliper to a brake support of the vehicle so that the caliper is axially slideable relative to the brake disk, where the first support bearing includes a first guide pin and a first guide bushing and the second support bearing includes a second guide pin and a second guide bushing, where the first guide pin and guide bushing have substantially no play between their sliding surfaces and the second guide pin and guide bushing have a play between their sliding surfaces, wherein the second guide bushing include an inner and an outer annular metal member with an annular member of resilient material therebetween, and wherein the bushing is mounted such that the center of the bushing is offset to the center of the guide pin. Hereby, brake noise created by vibrations when the brake is inactive is eliminated.

  • Publication number: 20090071770
Abstract: A dirt scraper for a disc brake of a vehicle includes at least one scraper blade adapted to abut a braking surface of the disc for scraping off dirt when the disc rotates, and a heat sensitive structure for moving the at least one blade from a first position where it abuts the surface of the disc to a second position where it does not abut the surface of the disc, when the temperature of the heat sensitive structure increases, and vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20050016798
Abstract: A protection device (10) in a disk brake arrangement for protecting a brake disk (12) from dirt particles. The protection device at least partly surrounds the brake disk (12), and the protection device (10) includes at least one protection means (13) that is mounted on the wheel suspension 11 and consists at least partly of a material of which the shape is influenced by heat. The protection means has a first end position which prevents dirt particles and relative wind from striking the brake disk directly and a second end position which allows relative wind to strike the brake disk directly so as thus to obtain cooling of the brake disk. The first end position occurs when the temperature of the protection means lies below a first temperature and the second end position occurs when the temperature of the protection means exceeds a second temperature.
