  • Publication number: 20040163980
Abstract: The present invention is a catheter assembly with a catheter and a package for a catheter. The package and catheter is provided with a seal restricting passage of fluid between the package and the catheter. The assembly allows the catheter to be used without complete removal from the package. During urination, the assembly prevents urine to flow from the outlet of the catheter and back through the package in a direction towards the user of the catheter. The seal allows the catheter to be dispensed from the package while the sealing is maintained and the assembly thus allows non-contaminated insertion and use of the catheter while the catheter is partly maintained in the package.

  • Publication number: 20040158231
Abstract: A kit for preparing a medical catheter from catheter sections comprises a tubular protective member surrounding a first, proximal one of the catheter sections. The kit further comprises a joint for interconnecting the catheter sections, the joint defining a substantially liquid tight seal at one end of a substantially annular and longitudinally extending cavity provided between the proximal end portion of the first catheter section and an inner wall of the tubular protective member. Following removal of the tubular protective member, one of the catheter sections is exposed and ready for insertion into the urehtra.

  • Publication number: 20030060807
Abstract: A catheter assembly allowing for non-contaminated insertion of the catheter into the urinary canal. The catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter, a catheter package and a sealing member. The urinary catheter defines a conduit and has a proximal end adapted for insertion into the urinary canal and an opposite distal end. The catheter package has a hose with a cavity for accommodation of the catheter, and a catheter outlet adapted to dismantle the proximal end of the catheter from the catheter package. The sealing member is adapted to provide a substantially liquid-tight seal between the catheter package and the urinary catheter while the catheter is being dismantled.

  • Publication number: 20030018293
Abstract: The present invention is a kit for preparing a medical catheter from catheter sections which are short relative to the length of the catheter. The catheter is divided into two or more sections configurable into two configurations. In one configuration, the sections are joined to form a catheter of a greater length than the length of each individual section. In the other configuration, the length of the catheter is reduced. The invention also relates to a method of producing a catheter section by injection molding.

  • Publication number: 20030018322
Abstract: The present invention is a catheter assembly allowing for non-contaminated insertion of a catheter into a urinary canal. The assembly includes a package for the catheter and an applicator to be used for guiding the catheter into the urinary canal without touching the catheter by holding the catheter via walls of the applicator. The assembly further comprises clamping means for pressing the walls of the applicator into engagement with the catheter. The present invention further relates to an applicator with integrated clamping means to be used with the assembly.

  • Patent number: 6355004
Abstract: A urinary catheter assembly comprises at least one urinary catheter (1) and a flexible tubular catheter package comprising a hose member (4) narrowly surrounding the catheter (1). A proximal end of the catheter is connected with a connector member (3) and the package comprises a tubular compartment (10) connected with the hose member (4) for accommodation of the connector member (3). The compartment (10) is closed in a first end by a detachable cover member (11) and is detachably connected with the hose member (4). The compartment (10) is further formed with walls (14) of a thin flexible material, so that by removal of the catheter (1) and the compartment (10) from the hose member (4) the compartment (10) may be arranged on the catheter shaft for used as an applicator for safely guided introduction of the catheter into the urethra (15).
