  • Patent number: 12117246
Abstract: There is provided a system for energy storage comprising: a fluidized bed apparatus with an energy storage material, wherein the energy storage material is provided in volumes coated with an outer layer of solid particles of a different material, wherein the volumes have a largest size in the interval 1-1000 ?m and wherein the solid particles (5) have a largest size in the interval 1-500 nm. Advantages of the system include that structural changes in the energy storage material over time are minimized so that the energy storage material can be used over many cycles without any noticeable impairment. The heat transfer to and from the energy storage material is improved. The system can further be used for CO2 capture.

  • Publication number: 20240215144
Abstract: There is provided a reactor wherein the reactor is a cyclone reactor, and wherein at least one volume (Vh) inside the reactor is adapted to be heated by a plasma torch to a temperature of at least 3000° C. Advantages include that the calcination is quicker with a more uniform heat transfer to all particles. The calciner can be made more compact. The temperature difference in the process ?T increases, which also improves the efficiency of the process. The calcination process can be made essentially kinetically controlled. The elevated temperatures of the heat treated material reduce recombination reactions.

  • Publication number: 20230070109
Abstract: There is provided a system for energy storage and CO2 capture. The system comprises CaO/CaCO3, a carbonator (1) adapted to react CaO with CO2 to produce CaCO3, at least one CaCO3 storage container (2) for receiving and storing the CaCO3 produced in the carbonator (1), wherein the CaCO3 storage container (2) is configured to be transportable such that the CaCO3 can be supplied to a geographical location (3) remote from the carbonator (1) for CO2 release.

  • Publication number: 20210199351
Abstract: There is provided a system and a method for transferring energy, the method comprising the steps of: a)feeding a material comprising an absorbed fluid into a tube, b) heating the tube so that the fluid is desorbed in gas phase from the material, so that a fluid flow is created by the desorbed fluid in the tube, causing a flow of the material present as particles, and c) performing one of i) separating the material from the fluid so that a charged material is obtained, and ii)cooling the material and fluid so that the fluid is absorbed by the material whereby heat is released. An advantage is that no active transport means such as pumps are needed to transport the material during charging.

  • Patent number: 6185758
Abstract: A device in draining gutters comprises a gutter member (11) adapted to be imbedded in a hole in a floor in relation to the surrounding floor, connectable to a conduit (6) for draining water, said member being adapted to receive water, and an arrangement for sealing the floor covering (8) in relation to the gutter member, for preventing water from finding its way between the latters. This sealing arrangement has means (23, 24, 25) aranged to seal against the floor covering (8) by bearing on the latter from above around an upper water receiving opening (32) of the gutter member.
