  • Publication number: 20220023389
Abstract: The present invention relates to vasodilators for use in the treatment of a retinal ischemic disorder in a mammal by reducing the retinal ischemic damage for both the photoreceptors (A-wave amplitude) and the Muller and ON-bipolar cells (B-wave amplitude) by at least 10%, when measured by Electroretinography in the mammal compared to the ET-1 induced ischemia alone, at day 3 and at day 21 after the ischemic event and the vasodilator is first applied. The vasodilator may preferably be selected from the group consisting of Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), amylin, adrenomedullin, and calcitonin.

  • Publication number: 20170239653
Abstract: A method and device for performing direct quantitative real time PCR in a crude sample, wherein said sample is subjected to a centrifugal force sufficient to separate components of the sample into a supernatant and a pellet, and wherein said at least one light source and said at least one detector are positioned so that the excitation light impinges on the sample in a position above said pellet, and said detector detects light emitted from a position above said pellet.

    Publication date: August 24, 2017
    Inventors: Lars EDVINSSON, Magnus MOLIN
  • Patent number: 9273351
Abstract: A method and device for performing direct quantitative real time PCR in a crude sample (200), wherein said sample is subjected to a centrifugal force sufficient to separate components of the sample into a supernatant and a pellet, and wherein at least one light source (204) and at least one detector (205) are positioned so that the excitation light impinges on the sample in a position above said pellet, and said detector detects light emitted from a position above said pellet.
