The invention is also directed to an in vitro method for diagnosing, prognosing, and/or monitoring a tumor, comprising determining the level of methylation of one or more CpG dinucleotides comprised in one of SEQ ID NO: 1-9 of a test sample; determining the level of methylation of the same one or more CpG dinucleotides comprised in one of SEQ ID NO: 1-9 of a control sample; and comparing the level of methylation of the one or more CpG dinucleotides of the test sample to that of the control sample; wherein a hypermethylation in the one or more CpG dinucleotides of the test sample indicates the presence of a tumor, or indicates a high likelihood of developing a tumor.
