  • Patent number: 9644688
Abstract: A clutch for an automatic transmission for a motor vehicle includes a clutch housing and a retaining ring. In an inner circumferential surface of the clutch housing concentrically at a central axis (M) of the cylinder jacket-shaped inner circumferential surface, a ring groove that is open radially inward is formed, within which the retaining ring is arranged. The retaining ring is thereby open and features two spaced ends. In the area of the ring groove, at least one stop is formed, whereas a distance between the ends from each other or the position of the stop is selected in such a manner that, in the assembled state, only one end of the retaining ring may come into contact with a stop, while the other end is spaced from this stop or an additional stop.
